With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

Twilight Moments

Midnight Sun has given me back a little bit of the old "Twilight Obsession" where thoughts and moments throughout my day center around a universe that includes vampires. Ahhh it feels good to be back to my best self. Ha ha. So here are a few of my best recent TW moment.

1. On the same day both RWV and I noticed a silver Volvo FOR SALE, on 700 East between 10600 and 11000. It is perfect. She called me about it and I had meant to point it out to her the next time it entered my mind. By sight now, we can both identify that it is the s60. We haven't been able to tell if it has the "R" or not. If it does well you know what that mean right? We HAVE to buy it. It is only 10,000 so if 5 of us chip in that's only $2000 each. We could drive it every 5th week. Think how happy those weeks would be, and the week before our turn, and several days after. Oooh we'd have to find an air-freshener that smells like "honey, lilac and sunshine."
2. Also like my former heavy Twilight using days, I am dreaming again about Twilight, or having Twilight themed dreams. The dream I am about to tell you is very embarrassing.

Before MS came out, I was slowly trying to get through Breaking Dawn again. I survived the Jacob book without as much skimming as the first time. Then I got to one of my favorite 2 moments in the entire book, Bella' change. Thank heaven for the glorious description of her new vampire self, because the birth just prior still makes me a little queasy. But minds do funny things. I thought my mind would be focusing on the part I liked, the vampire change. My subconscious, however. drummed up a Twilight dream last night that had ME giving birth, gratefully in a very naively undetailed version (but quite a big surprise, since my children are adopted) and then that baby is A GIRL (even bigger surprise!) and she is smiling at me, right after deliver in a bedroom somewhere. Well lets just say it was easy for my conscious mind to connect the dots for the inspiration on that one. Good Heavens! that book is really getting to me in all the wrong ways. Top that dream girls.

5/6 Dazzles Daily or you know you are addicted when. . .

You know you are addicted to Twilight when:

Your friend interrupts you in the middle of a meeting at school, by calling to tell you about the Twilight Trailer, and you start screaming right then and there!

You smile to yourself at a movie theater just because you can't wait for THIS movie.

You spot, like, 5 Volvo's today, no 6, but 5 from the front, which is a newly acquired skill.

And the best moment in a long time:
  • I saw my mom on Saturday. She had the biggest "cat that swallowed the canary" look on her face but wouldn't tell me why. So I searched her car to find out what she was hiding. When I spotted a case with a picture of SM on the back, well you can imagine by now my reaction. (Yes, jumping up and down.) My mom found a copy of Twilight on C.D. at the library. She decided that for my sake she would try it. I couldn't believe she got that with all the holds on that thing. She explained that it wouldn't check out but the librarian let her have it anyway! Of course she plans on giving me some "statement" about how vampires can't be good or something. Too bad she finds the book RIVETING and had to vow not to listen to it on the Sabbath or she would have. YES!

4/21 - You know you are Dazzled Daily when . . .

Do you remember what is feels like to be dazzled daily? Kristin Stewart said in an interview, in an amazed tone, "people dream about these books". Well whether its a dream or if anyone else could please have a Twilight moment in a grocery store, I would really appreciate hearing about it.

Mar. 31 & 24 - Dazzled Daily

I'm going to keep this post going for another week rather than starting a new one.

I went to some very sunny places this weekend, and on the way there my husband announced to our car that he was glad this was a Twilight Free Zone. I did not bring my black and red "triple combination" only my brown leather one on this trip. Well I just laughed, ha, ha, tossed my hair or something for emphasis, and pointed out that he was mistaken. I tried to do a quick calculation of how many fleeting TW thoughts had run through my mind in the 12 hours we had been traveling, but numbers don't matter. 2nd nature, you know?

I had a few extra Twilighty moments though and I'll share a few in the comments.
Please add any you have. They always bring a smile.

Dazzled Daily 3/11

What could be funny enough to make you laugh so much to yourself that you couldn't answer the "debit or credit" question to the cashier at the grocery store? (I wonder why I have so many grocery store TW moments?)

Well it was a Twilight moment but it didn't have to do with the books. Instead it was a moment where I was struck with such a funny memory of spending time with my TwilightersAnonymous friends, that I was laughing to myself, right in the check-out line.

But you would laugh too if the elderly lady behind you had only ONE thing in her cart:

A great big package of DEPENDS!
(Of course I would never laugh at the sweet lady, only the memories it conjured)

And if you're not sure how depends, friends, and Twilight are all related than you unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) missed the account of the last CSP (cyber slumber party). But just know that it is so fun to have reminders of what awesome ladies you are and how many little joyful moments thoughts of you bring me.
Please share any Twilight Moments you have this week. We all love to hear them.

Dazzled Daily - 2/26

So do you like the new name of our weekly Twilight Moments? Don't tell me if you don't (ha ha). This is the place to put any little Twilight reminders you have this week. Nothing is too insignifant to list. For instance:

I had two car sightings this week. Once today, gorgeous black volvo (did my spinning friends catch it in the gym parking lot?) And yesterday I was racing with a beautiful audi coupe. It was also black. I could even see Bella in that. Mmm-hmmm.

But the best moment of all involves injuring my knuckles. It made me put my hand over my mouth and start giggling, while shopping at the grocery store. I'll finish the story in the comments.

Husband Moments

Okay, I love reading all the husband moments, so I'm giving them their own home. (Guys need one too, right?) These are the fun things, like TM/MA's Volvo experience, and Ruth's Jacob hat.
I'll start another post for husband questions, insights, and reactions to the books.

Here are the few I have found.

From Ruth:
my husband was playing with my new hat (lined with fake fur), turned it inside out, put it on his head so that it covered his eyes and said, "do I look like Jacob?" Hah!

From Twilightmom:
Sunday afternoon. We are driving, on the freeway, and he abruptly calls out "there's a Volvo." And yes he knows exactly what he is doing. He knows who drives a Volvo.

Well that certainly gets my attention. But the volvo was some dumb big piece of machinery being used for road construction. I rolled my eyes and mentioned how a yellow/orange volvo doesn't have much appeal for me, but how proud I was of him for noticing and pointing it out. I'm sure if the Cullen boys spent a few years in construction as a diversion, they would use Volvo brand machines.

And my own:
He was reading to our daughter, something like this:"Sally, Suzie and Isabella, Hey! Bella! were three princesses..." He said this all without a pause, except that they "Hey! Bella! was directed at me while the rest was part of the book.

I just grinned at him (a big wide Jacob grin)and said, "You just had your first Twilight moment!" He shook his head.

.........................

So please add your own husband-moments to this post. It will be a good spot to come when we need to smile.

A BIG moment for the Stanley's: Dave finished Twilight!

This is a significant event in our lives. Not that every husband of every TA member needs to read Twilight. There was a long time I didn't think I wanted him too. He doesn't need any more fuel for teasing. But realize, I have gotten a little carried away here, and have wanted my husband to have an appreciation for why.

Moment 1 - he actually told me when he finished chapter 13. Can you quote the title? That's right - Confessions. He had to tell me how powerful it was and how much it explained. I can't remember exactly how he described it, but he was definitely affected by it.

Moment 2 - he stayed up after I was asleep, so that he could read it. Still can't believe it.

Moment 3 - he had to tell me when he came to the part where James enters the picture. He had to admit it was riveting.

Moment 4- I begged him to finish the epilogue (The Prom) before he started reading the boring non-fiction book he had in his hand. He informed me, that he already had, during lunch. FAINT!

Moment 5 - He had to admit he could see why we like it so much. Of course he thought the entire final quarter of the book was excellent with the drama, even though he knew Bella would be fine. But he also agreed that the WAY Edward saved her really was amazing. He teased too, saying the whole thing was a bit too "swoony" for him. Of course he used that word since the night he finished (up to the epilogue) I was literally swooning all over the place. I would peek over his shoulder and gasp. I would leave and come back over and over to see where he was next and giggle with nerves. There was even once (or twice) where I literally fell on the bed where he was reading and swooned away, falling on my pillow, grabbing him and making ridiculous sighing sounds, etc. Can you see the picture?
But what he really thought was that it was undeniable that SM created a very dramatic, conflicted and romantic relationship in Edward and Bella.

Of course he also thought there was too much neck stuff, and slow
descriptions of hands down the neck etc. And he can go on and on about all of that if he wants, but the bottom line, he knows he has Twilight to thank for an increase in kisses from me these past 4 months.

The point of this latest of my extremely long posts (does that drive everyone crazy that I am ms. wordy?) is not that husbands should read Twilight. If they do, lucky you. But really that anyone can enjoy this wonderful book.

To every Twilight fan who smiles when they see a Silver Volvo:

Can you think of a better moment than this?:
You walk out of the TEMPLE, of all places,
having spent some lovely time there with a dear friend,
and find a Silver Volvo parked next to you.

A bit of heaven on earth? It was for me today.
A bit of earthly joy and fictional joy meshed together beautifully.

Twilight Moments - A Blessing?

Just one more. If for no one else then at least for my own posterity (or for my own embarrassment, who knows how I will look at Twilight in the future, but I'm hoping for the best). So at Thanksgiving my family all shares something, or a few things, we are thankful for. It's always a beautiful discussion. Very heart felt. Well I had already been thinking about how Twilight is high up on my "blessings to be thankful for" list this year. But was I going to bring it up in front of my entire, non-understanding, family. No way! Well I didn't have to. My "little" brother, age 13, had his turn right before me. And when he was finished he remarked, so Mary Ann, your thankful for Twilight right? Well of course. And I mentioned how glad I was that he brought it up for me, so that I didn't have too. (I then counted my top-of-the-list blessings, like my husband, and wonderful friends.)

I have from time to time pondered why I have been so swept away by this little world of Twilight. Well I really can't say for certain, but I am literally grateful for it. I can let it take too much time, just because it is so fun and diverting. Those are the instances I wonder if my little addiction does have a negative side-effect, time stealing. But more often I have moments of real, heartfelt appreciation for such a wonderful work of art, and the magic it plays on me.

Twilight Moments: Twilight at Thanksgiving

This is the first chance I have given myself to post this. It's just my fun Twilight moment thoughts. I know I have so, so, many. Hope I don't bore any readers, but I never tire of having or reliving my moments.
I spent Thanksgiving in St. George with my family. Two of my sister-in-laws are addicts so I had great company. I had several "moments":
My brother brought a jeep/4 wheeler cross breed called a Rhino, it seats 4-5 people, 2 in front and 2-3 in a the back. It is very fun, if you like off-roading vehicles. The seat-belts are harnesses. Well harnessing myself in and then riding rough roads, could only remind me of one thing- Emmet's jeep and Bella riding in it to the baseball game (which then leads to one of the hottest kissing scenes of all times, sigh). Even Erin (1 of the fellow addict sister-in-laws)admitted she also had Twilight thoughts when she rode in the rhino, and tried to read the jeep part to her husband just to get him to enjoy a little TW himself. It didn't work. Fun for us though. Fun, fun, fun!

The 2nd day I went off-roading, Dave looked at me and the sun was shining very brightly in his eyes, and his eyes looked a shade of Edwards. I am not kidding. His brown have green and a lot of yellow in them. They were very yellow/brown today, very warm. I told him so, and he said he would take it as a compliment that I said his eyes were like Edwards!

My fav. TW moment: so we were all getting the dinner ready and my brother was peeling potatoes. I needed the peeler for my cucumbers, and he was taking forever, and knew I was waiting. So he was putting on an exaggerated peeling show, and commented "is this fast enough for you?" To which I responded. "No" and then to my Twilight-addicted-sister-in-law-2 I said, "I know what would be fast enough though". We exchanged very twinkly and knowing smiles at the thought of long, beautiful, white hands, peeling potatoes lightening fast, even though the Being peeling them wouldn't be eating them. (Of course this launched into a discussion about Vampires not eating, and had us explaining to our husbands how our Edward learned to cook for Bella anyway because he loved her so much, even though he couldn't enjoy the taste himself). Very satisfying weekend I must say!
(p.s. the picture is of Emmet's jeep from SM.com)

You Know You're Addicted When...

Someone mentions there have been multiple wolf sightings nearby and you're not worried. It's just Jacob and his friends.

Twilight Moment - Sexiest Man?

So I was in the checkout line at Walmart (most of you may know how long they can be), and I was checking out all the magazine covers. I got to People magazine's title of "Sexiest Man of the Year" and it was Matt Damon, or whatever his name is, and right away I thought to myself.... 'pff! obviously they've never seen Edward Cullen.' Really, I did.
I was also talking to my husband on the phone today and I asked him something (I can't remember what now) and his answer was "Sure, sure," so of course I immediately thought of Twilight AGAIN. I know that's a Jacob/Bella thing, but still. Many things in everyday life that happen to me can be related to Twilight in some way, and it really happens frequently to me, these are just 2 small examples. I had another tonight, but I've forgotten for the time being what it was, so I'll have to add it later. See ya friends! Happy thoughts.

Twilight Moment - aahh... Bella and Edward

I have been so giddy all day! On my way home from the gym this morning I heard a Bella and Edward song. Now, many of you are not country fans, I have to admit that I am. I am not really a fan of this group (Rascal Flatts), but they are growing on me. I have heard this song several times, but for some reason it really hit a 'Bella and Edward' chord this morning. Who knows why...?! I got home and even was able to get Joseph to help me find the lyrics. I was so excited...I didn't tell him, by the way, why I was wanting the lyrics...he just thought I was excited about this new song! Now before I attach the words, I have to say that I haven't even re-read this part in Twilight (since I did get my book back - YEAH!), but it has always been one of my favorite parts - for lots of reasons. After Port Angeles, when he interrogates her before, during, and after school - I always thought - man, I'm so glad I am past that part in my relationship with Joseph - I'm not very good at being the center of attention/expressing my feelings/talking about myself. All of it makes me uncomfortable and self-conscious. So, at all those little moments when Bella blushes, or she can't understand why Edward is sooo interested - I'm right there with her!!
Ok, so enough of this babbling...this song just made my heart flip! To me it's really what was happening when Edward was trying to find out about Bella. And if you remember parts (in later chapters and books) where Edward reminds her of how she fascinates him and surprises him - it just makes you feel for him all the more, and really believe that she is for him. So enjoy these words - if you're brave turn the station to country for awhile and you'll probably hear it!!! I love it!!!!

Take Me There (Rascal Flatts)

There's a place in your heart nobodys been
Take me there
Things nobody knows, not even your friends
Take me there
Tell me about your mama, your daddy, your hometown
Show me around, I want to see it all
Don't leave anything out

I wanna know everything about you then
And I want to go down every road you've been
Where your hopes and dreams and wishes live
Where you keep the rest of your life hid
I want to know the girl behind that pretty stare
Take me there

Your first real kiss, your first true love
You were scared
Show me where you learned about life,
spent your summer nights
Without a care
I wanna roll down Main Street, the back roads,
like you did when you were a kid, what made you who you are
Tell me what your story is

I wanna know everything about you then
And I want to go down every road you've been
Where your hopes and dreams and wishes live
Where you keep the rest of your life hid
I want to know the girl behind that pretty stare
Take me there

Yeah, I wanna know everything about you
Yeah, everything about you baby
I wanna go down every road you've been
Where your hopes and dreams and wishes live
Where you keep the rest of your life hid
I want to know the girl behind that pretty stare
Take, me, take me, take me there
Oh, I wanna roll down Main Street
I wanna know your hopes and your dreams
Take me, take me there - yeah.

Twilight Moments - Where's Mom?

Where's mom? by Erin
By now, all of you know that I've been a little pre-occupied with certain books of fiction! I have to admit that my favorite days consist of spending time with Joseph, loving my kids, getting some exercise, and sneaking in a bit of Twilight. But none of that comes without consequences...below you will see one of the products of spending a little too much time with my secret addiction! This particular day I was up on the computer reading some of my fellow "Twilight Fan" emails!!

Luckily I do have very good kids, and Annalyn is usually pretty responsible
(even for being only 5). I guess if you think about it, things could have been a lot worse!!

Twilight Moments-Volvo's and music

Have you had any Twilight moments lately? So I had two Twilight moments today. Do any of you have them, or have you written me off to complete insanity (if you have, you really should join me. It's so fun here. Please comment if you have one!).
Moment 1: driving and saw a Volvo, not even pure silver, more of a champagne color. Well of course I knew who wasn't in it. (darn!) But I found myself wondering who was in it. I mean I could tell it was a guy, and I don't EVER check out guys, really, I don't have a need to. But before I could even realize what I was doing I was checking out the guy in the Volvo. My brain was saying "it must at least be a good looking guy right? I mean who else should be driving Volvo's?" And I looked once, twice, and then a third time in my mirror as I passed. So um, then I realized, without ever getting a good look anyway, what the silliness I was doing, and I laughed at myself, and called a Twilight friend to share the moment with. Now I share it with all of you. Moment 2 is in the comments of this post.
