Dazzled Daily 3/11

What could be funny enough to make you laugh so much to yourself that you couldn't answer the "debit or credit" question to the cashier at the grocery store? (I wonder why I have so many grocery store TW moments?)

Well it was a Twilight moment but it didn't have to do with the books. Instead it was a moment where I was struck with such a funny memory of spending time with my TwilightersAnonymous friends, that I was laughing to myself, right in the check-out line.

But you would laugh too if the elderly lady behind you had only ONE thing in her cart:

A great big package of DEPENDS!
(Of course I would never laugh at the sweet lady, only the memories it conjured)

And if you're not sure how depends, friends, and Twilight are all related than you unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) missed the account of the last CSP (cyber slumber party). But just know that it is so fun to have reminders of what awesome ladies you are and how many little joyful moments thoughts of you bring me.
Please share any Twilight Moments you have this week. We all love to hear them.

And for the record Jenn, this was such a funny delightful moment thanks to your humor and sweet personality. So please take it as an honor that your "depends" problems are on a front page feature this week!

Trish said...

Oh, that really is quite funny! I can just see you doing that. Was the checker looking at you oddly?
So great that a TW moment can come in different ways!

This morning, I saw a white volvo pulled over by a policeman getting a ticket- I must admit, my first thoughts were they were driving as fast as Edward but clearly did not have Edwards powers- poor volvo owner. I wish I had more vampire powers- I think I could a lot more done.

lioness said...

So I have "wish I had vampire powers" thoughts daily!

And yes, the checker was looking at me weird. In fact I had to apologize for not being able to conentrate on the credit card machine, I felt so silly, but laughing all the way , ha, ha, ha.

And the credit card machines are very tempermental at Reams, so cut my multitaskibilities some slack.

I was out to breakfast with a group of my very best friends from High School, and we got talking about the new book and movie coming out. They were not aware of my deep obsession until that day. One of my friends just could not believe that I was that much in love with the stories and characters, comparing me to her college-age daughter and roommate. She tried to tease me by saying "Well, maybe you could join them for their Spring Break trip to Forks, WA". My reply, of course, was "What day are we leaving and do I get to be the driver?" Seriously, I would join up with them in a heartbeat, but don't know how I would explain to my husband and kids why mom has decided to vacation in Forks, WA while they are all at Disneyland without me. Hmmmmm.... very tempting though!

betchafeelbetter said...

I have joked with my husband that we need to vacation there this year. My sister-in-law is ready to go with me at any time.

And even those of us who only read the CSB will never look at Depends the same again.

My moment last night was nothing spectacular but I really needed it.

I had a really crappy day/afternoon. And I was driving home and came to an intersection, and thought I didn't even see any Cullen cars in that whole stretch of driving. Then I stopped and looked across from me, and there was a silver Audi, stopped next to a black Volvo.
I was just thinking, "I really needed that, when a white BMW pulled up right next to me, and then a black Audi pulled up on the left side.
I know none of them were pure-bred Cullen cars, but sometimes even cross-bred Cullens will do.

Then in the next block before I got home, I passed a BMW, Mercedes, a sweet silver Audi coupe & a nice SILVER Volvo (pure-bred! Whoo hoo!).
I don't usually see that many Cullen cars in a whole day of shopping/driving, let alone within a block of home.

I found it really funny that I thought, "Heavenly Father must love me, because he knew I really needed that right now."

Trish said...

Wow, fun for you BFB! That must be a record or something! I agree, even if they're not "pure-bred" it's ok as long as they're close. The effect is still there.
I love how simple things like that can make our day and put a smile where one wasn't!

So one of my best friends drives a silver Audi, trimmed in black leather with tinted windows. I just rode in it this weekend, and it was raining. It was like a twilight zone moment (hey, twilight zone, twilight...giggle) because I felt like I should have looked in the drivers seat and seen Edward. But I closed my eyes and listened to the rain for a moment and pretended I was Bella. I could only admit that here! I love you guys! And I am willing to put together a Forks trip, but I have to know that I am not the only crazy one that would go.

Ok, so here's my suggestion.... I have lots of buddy passes on JetBlue saved up. Starting in June, or after, we could go from SLC-LGB-SEA. All you would have to pay each would be the buddy pass fees and taxes on the flights. I think it would only be about $45 round trip. We would rent a car or minivan and drive the 130 miles from Seattle to Forks, stay overnight, play and explore for a day, then fly back the next night. I'm serious, but I wouldn't want to go by myself.

alicewannabe said...

Okay, D, I haven't even met you, I don't think, but I am all about that. I can get time off work, and if I can't, I will quit! j/k But I think there would be nothing better to look forward to than a trip with you wonderful ladies!

alicewannabe said...

I just had another Twilight moment. Isn't it weird that once you admit your addiction, they are non-stop? Sorry, sometimes I am slow on the uptake. Here it goes:

I am sitting her at work, typing up mailing labels for our recruiting agencies in Korea, and this is the name of the agency:

SM Education.

First thought in my mind...What are they teaching about Stephanie? Is it from her website? AAHHHH! But I am having quite a laugh about it in my little office right now! ;)

lioness said...

Beautiful moments. All of them. Becky great job!

BFB I love the cross-breed terminology. Cars on the road making us happy. Our guys should really be proud.
Does Rosalie drive a convertible MB because I couldn't remember? But I wouldn't be surprised. I think I saw it but she painted it blue for spring.

betchafeelbetter said...

I am quite sure that Rosalie's was a convertible. She must paint it a lot, because it was silver only two weeks ago. My dh even noticed it in our neighborhood.

And I loved the SM Education moment. That must be like basic bio information, translated into Korean since her website is in English, right?

And I am totally in for a Forks trip if you can really get buddy passes, Dazzled. How many do you have? Can you just see this group of crazies walking around Washington? Wait, they might still be filming in June, so maybe we wouldn't look so weird after all; they'll have seen lots of crazies by then. (I'm not suggesting we try and find the filming place; I don't think I'm that far gone.)

betchafeelbetter said...

TM, I also think that our guys should be proud of us. Until a few months ago, whenever I was asked, "What kind of car was it?" I replie, "Red" (or blue... you get the picture).

So this is quite the accomplishment for me.
Next step, learning right from left...

Jenn said...

MA, I am so happy I could give you a twilight moment of myself! That cracked me up! You are so funny!

Alicewannabe, you are a genius! I am definitely in for a trip, especially with those prices! Thankyou!I thin that would be so fun if all of us could go overnight up there!Lets plan a fieldtrip asap-Is everyone game for this?

alicewannabe said...

April is crowded for me, but how does May look for everyone?

betchafeelbetter said...

After the first week of June for me. Then any time is open, pretty much.

alicewannabe said...

So about this signing, are those of us that are close to one another (when I am at my mom's not here in Ephraim) carpooling? I would really like to ride with someone, otherwise I just might be too giddy when I get there and make a fool of myself looking for everyone.

betchafeelbetter said...

Well, I'm all for riding together. Where does your mom live?

alicewannabe said...

Sandy, like a mile away from TM and RWV (where I also used to reside until I got stupid answers that had us moving to Ephraim) Sorry, I am still dealing with that issue. I miss being at church with TM and RWV.

Trish said...

We miss you too AWB!! (cry)

Trish said...

So I was registering for something online earlier and had to fill out a security question, you know. So the question I chose to pick asks: "Who is your favorite fictional character?"
Does anyone know what my answer is? I knew I wouldn't be forgetting that one.
What a fun question, never seen that one before.

Jenn said...

RWV, thats funny I have had those where i've been able to fill in my own questions, but I usually have left lame ones like, whats my name?

Anyhoo, I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, for those who dont know its where your muscle and nerve DNA changes. My dh teases me about this saying that I'm changing my DNA on purpose because I want to be a vampire, and the Fibro... thing is just my cover.LOL!!!

betchafeelbetter said...

Jenn I have fibromyalgia too! (Not that it's an exciting thing, but it's nice to talk to someone else who knows what it's like.) Send me an email sometime. I'd love to hear anything that helps you. cydnewright@hotmail.com

Is that some of what you have been sick with lately? The last few years have been good to me, but I had several nasty ones before that.
I'm thinking back to the first doctor I saw who just thought I was crazy. (Yes, he pretty much told me that. Nice guy, huh?) Since I'm typing this on the TAO blog, I guess my response to him should be, "Yes, I am - just not in that way."

Dazzled said...

I don't know how to add a new post for this weeks Dazzled Daily, so I'm just adding it to last weeks.... Ok, so now my husband has been teasing me ENDLESSLY since getting about half way through the book and beyond! He started referring to Edward as "Cullen", but says it more like "Collin or Colon". I didn't even know who he was talking about at first. The night he was reading the meadow scene he got a funny smirk on his face, then rather amused he said "I can't believe this God-like creature was meant for me?", then started laughing. I mean, really! How disrespectful of my passion can he be? Then a couple of mornings later he joked "Do you think Edward was sitting in our room watching us all night?" Ha, what a joker he thinks he is. I don't think I'll give him the option to read the next 2 books until he can grow up a little!

Jenn said...

Ah! What a stinker!
Oh well, Twilights not for everyone unfortunately. Yet I have to ponder, why does he continue to read on through if he doesn't like it? Could he be a closet Twilighter? He may come around....

Dazzled said...

He started reading the book because I wanted him to, but now he is starting to enjoy it. I probably made him out to be worse than he really is. The comments I mentioned are the only negative/teasing things he's said. Everything else has been mostly out of curiousity with the storylin and characters. He's starting to lighten up and appreciate it more.

Jenn said...

Hooray! Well OF COURSE he likes it! LOL
Thats great he's coming around, good for him! and you.

lioness said...

Sorry I neglected to start a new Daily Dazzled. I will tonight or in the morning. But I have to add to this thread.

So all Jenn said Marti is that he was a stinker. Thats not too bad. We know our husbands must really love us to even start these books. Do you not remember the miracle it was for Jenn's husband to read them? And then to admit he liked them? It was a miracle.
So there is still hope for your guy. I still have hope for mine to come around the the other 2. That is when I am not refusing to ever even let him talk to me about the books. Boys were born to tease.

But some teasing back suggestions:
Leave a copy of
"Edward - A Guide for Husbands"
laying around where he can't miss it (if you haven't read it, its not as mean as it sounds).

Then print out a copy of this picture and label it:
"God-like Creature"
http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertobollefanclub/2312619468/sizes/o/
But first, a story:
Why do I have a link to another Edward body double? Well it is more innocent than it might appear. And by the way, this is the same guy as the gap add.
So after researching for that wonderful gap add, it sparked my interest that the model was actually a dancer. I love dancing. My favorite show on TV is "So you think you can dance" I bet many of you haven't even heard of that show. Anyway, Roberto Bolle is quite a famous guy. I just got wondering how tall he was. Because he looks really tall even for a 15 foot poster. And dancers aren't usually tall. And with Edward being 6'2", well I just wanted my little Edward picture puzzle to fit perfectly.
With a little bit of internet research, not only did I find out that Roberto aka Edward-body-double was 6'2" (almost), sigh, perfect, sigh, I knew it, but this breath-taking photograph came up as well. I think my reaction was spraining my jaw from it dropping so far.
But I could't think of a valid reason to show off another version of Edward's torso. Until now.

This would be great ammunition Dazz, if your DH could take it. Mine could not! Curtains for the Twilightmom for sure.

And I think we should consider making monogrammed note cards out of this picture or something. You have the connection right?
Or duel flags for TW meetings.
Anyway, thanks for giving me an excuse to share this picture. It was innocently found.

Of course I think your husband is a great and very lucky guy. He will really like Dave's favorite non-fiction love affair of late, I am sure.
We will loan it to him when I am finished with it. (and I am not kidding. I really do want to read it.)

Dazzled said...

Whew! That is an incredible picture of Edward's body double... what abs and pecs!! I don't think I'll use it as ammo or blackmail with my husband (at least not yet). I don't think he would handle it well either. I do plan on printing off the "How to be more like Edward - Guide for Husbands" though. Thanks for the good ideas.

betchafeelbetter said...

W.O.W. That body-double guy...let's just say that if I weren't married, I would be tempted to go volturi-mom and start hunting him; I mean, HE is REAL, and he does ballet? It doesn't get any better than that (at least not in my ballet-lovin' world).
And I loved the suggestion to label the picture "God-like Creature." If we were to create an "evidence" folder showcasing our Twilight addiction, I definitely think that this could be included.

lioness said...

Glad you could appreciate it. Thank Dazz for giving me an opportunity to share it without feeling too embarassed. An evidence folder is certainly a fine idea. Or perhaps a new poll. Whose body looks most like Edwards?
Of course when my husband peers over my shoulder at that one, well, let me just say he could hardly stand the kissing poll. Body double poll, well he'd buy the straight jacket personally.
