You know you are addicted to Twilight when:
Your friend interrupts you in the middle of a meeting at school, by calling to tell you about the Twilight Trailer, and you start screaming right then and there! You smile to yourself at a movie theater just because you can't wait for THIS movie.
You spot, like, 5 Volvo's today, no 6, but 5 from the front, which is a newly acquired skill.
And the best moment in a long time:
- I saw my mom on Saturday. She had the biggest "cat that swallowed the canary" look on her face but wouldn't tell me why. So I searched her car to find out what she was hiding. When I spotted a case with a picture of SM on the back, well you can imagine by now my reaction. (Yes, jumping up and down.) My mom found a copy of Twilight on C.D. at the library. She decided that for my sake she would try it. I couldn't believe she got that with all the holds on that thing. She explained that it wouldn't check out but the librarian let her have it anyway! Of course she plans on giving me some "statement" about how vampires can't be good or something. Too bad she finds the book RIVETING and had to vow not to listen to it on the Sabbath or she would have. YES!

I'm so glad I don't have to be addicted to Heroine to get these highs.
So one more tonight. A great moment. Satisfying to say the least. So my Hubby has already watched the trailer with me and is looking forward to the movie. But he just doesn't think the Edward looks right.
So when I was working on the blog tonight he was looking over my shoulder, as often happens, and saw the Henry/Edward picture. "Now that makes a much better Edward" he said. "That really looks like him".
Well of course, I said. That is why he is here.
Then I had to explain about where Henry came from and all the why he can't play Edward history.
I was very proud of my sweetie just then.
That's awesome...even men know that Henry is the perfect Edward. Justin totally thinks he is too, I think he's confident enough in himself to realize and admit how goodlooking our Henry is. :)
I absolutely love reading all your latest "addicted" reasons, so fun! Thanks for sharing them. So funny about your Mom, sweet too I must admit. I would die if I saw my Mom do that, I keep trying to get her to read it, we'll see I guess. I swear so many people don't just out of defiance. Poor them.
All those Volvo sightings were meant to be, serious. I mean come on, all today!
Now share that Jeep moment already!!!
So I was skanning the channels a little while ago, and saw that the "Twilight Zone" is coming on next. Seriously...will anyone ever think of anything else first when they see that, or is it just me?
Just one more, the new trailer put me in an extra special cheery mood this afternoon and night!
I should say so!
Jeep moment tomorrow. Too tired tonight.
That is so funny about your mom! It made me laugh out loud!
BTW, my dh has started giving me Host moments. . . . funny, but not as enjoyable as TW moments.
Actually, I was going to comment that the "cat swallowed the canary" look was very Host-y (Jeb-ish).
Your story makes me laugh, TM. And hooray for your Volvo sightings. They do make driving more enjoyable, even if they aren't Edward's exact car.
But of course I couldn't start talking Hosty because I haven't finished it.
It is so wonderful when you find someone/get someone addicted to Twilight, except it is better when it is someone you love.
One more thing on. About the voting on how many times you have watched the trailer. I do not understand how someone could only watch it once. IT is like a drug, a fantastic one, that keeps pulling you back. I have watched it five times since coming home from work, not to mention the times I watched it at work. I had to keep watching it! Fantastic does not describe it, Uber-wonderful doesn't describe it, nothing does it better than DAZZLE
Diddo alicewannabe.
Saw several Volvos today, don't usually see so many in one day, and 3 of them were Edward's model, different colors, sooo nice though. What a perfectly, sexy car for Edward.
Here is the sad thing TM/MA. My mom read all the books, and she said they were good. GOOD! That's it! I was a little offended, until I realized that sometimes people just aren't ready for the life make-over that Twilight can give you. But that just makes me all the more glad to have friends who will acknowledge their obsession on such a healthy outlet like this blog. Few people down here understand the obsession, or are willing to admit it. Sad but true. I wish there were volvo's down here. I am sure there are, but you just don't get the opportunity to see as many cars like you do in Salt Lake. It just makes me look all the harder when I come up.
Sorry about the lack of volvo's. Really too bad.
And my Mom is no where close to being addicted. I think she likes them more than she will say.
She keeps saying she can understand why I like them so much. And she checked to see how long until she can get the other C.D.'s from the library. 230 holds each book. So not soon. Anyone have a set I could borrow for her? Although I'm a little worried. I don't want her to go wanting Bella to be with Jacob. She is a little scared of Edward still. And then I'm a tad worried about the intimacy in Eclipse. We will see.
So my Dad, my flannel clad, truck driving Dad called about Mothers Day today and mentioned he is listening to "my" book.
His reaction. . . He is crossing his fingers it picks up. He is almost to the meadow. I am not discouraged. Typical guy reaction. I guaranteed him some action at the end. Although he does like romance.
About the sad sorry people who stop watching the trailer after 5 or less times. Well we just can't understand that mentality.
I was literally shocked that someone voted for the "too silly of a question" option.
Go figure?
I have lost count now of my own viewing opportunities.
Hi AWB - I thought I would respond to your Twlight music comment here, since there isn't anywhere else for it too go except really old posts.
So the song "Near to You" really sounds like it was written for New Moon doesn't it. There are a few bands dedicated to making music about Twilight and I was sure this was one of them. Now I know better. I'm not that hip. But the singer "A Fine Frenzy" was being interviwed on 101.9 a while back and I wanted to call and ask her what her inspiration for that song was.
So even though it is a heart breaking time and song, I don't know if there is another song that matches as perfectly. Except for my favorite Twilight song, of course, Chasing Cars. Oh and "Why does is always rain on me" is my 3rd favorite. Oh but then there is my newest favorite "I'm yours." And I can't leave out "Magic". This is going no where. But a pleasant nowhere.
Bye.
Sorry I just wanted to add my Mom and I are quite, well, OPPOSITE! We have to be a little careful to get along. And she is SO NOT a romantic. So actually I'm pleased she liked Twilight as much as she did.
Oh, I love that your Dad is listening to it too, driving down the highway! That's great. My sister was trying to get my Dad to come watch the trailer with us at his house yesterday, but he took a raincheck for another time. It was funny, he always trys to act interested and nice about things, but I'm sure he could go without.
Saw a shiny, silver Volvo (Edward's model) parked at my daughter's baseball game this evening. Some lady driving it, pff.
Then, I checked the front, to make sure I know what to look for in the future. And, I found I had a slight smile on my face.
Birthdays must have magic in them - it is my daughter's today, but I saw several pure-bred Cullen Cars within the short drive we went on.
2 Edwards, 2 Carlisle's and 2 Audi coupes - ALL with VERY DARK tinted windows - that really does change the effect. Saw 2 other beautiful Audi's that were not coupes, but had dark windows and they were too beautiful not to notice.
And - not Twilight related - but I got my new spinning shoes, TM. You'll see them Monday. (It took me this long to get to the store to get MY bday present).
If your parents are not romantic, they really should try The Host. It isn't as intense in that area. I'm thinking that most guys especially will like it better.
Ok, RWV, as for your question about the Twilight Zone, well yes thats my first reaction when I hear that too. And you know how Jimmy thinks he's funny asking me if I'm in the "Twilight" Zone.Indeed it has new meaning around here.
Ok, so I'm at the beauty supply store with my daughter this afternoon or yesterday now,and the girls at the counter are involved in conversation.I pretty much ignored it until I heard one of them say,"Really? Better than Twilight?" I then immediately looked up and said,"Uh, whats better than Twilight?" They just looked at each other and giggled and one of them started to explain this other book called "The Host" (as if I'd never heard of it to which I quickly acknowledged that I had). Anyway, she was trying to explain to the other girls and then also to me-lol,that no, it just wasnt as good as Twilight. She said its ok so far but she's just not getting into it as much as she did with Twilight, to which I nodded a "Well yeah duh" nod.
And then we all gushed like little girls about how much we love the books as my daughter just smiled and shook her head-I think I embarrassed her a little but I didnt care--
I mean, come on, whats there to be embarrassed about when it comes to this?
So I got the best mother's day present ever! My sister gave me Bella's diamond heart from Edward. It made me sit and think of the entire setting of him giving the charm to her over and over. What an added bonus to my special day.....hmmmmm
Thanks sis!
One more...
So we're at my parents house today, and my hub says(trying to be manly) "So weren't you going to show me that stupid trailor or something? Come on."
So then I tell RWV who said she'd grab Justin and the four of us watched it together. Our youngest brother came in and said that he saw the trailer at the movies last night! Can you imagine on a huge digitally mastered screen as big as a mountain! ok a small mountain, but still!
Jenn I am so happy for your Twilighty Mothers Day.
That trailer would be seriously cool on the big screen. What movie was he watching?
Well, I had a TW moment while I was reading The Host...I was down in St. George. I started the Host on the way down, and then just had it with me the whole time, in the car, whenever I got a chance to crack it open. We had just gotten our car washed (waiting for the guys to dry it), I had the host on my lap, and all of a sudden, the girl that was drying my side opened my door and said, "so is that any good?" I started to answer, but she cut me off with ..."because I'm obsessed with Twilight, and I can't decide if I should try this new one or not." Well, my husband wasn't at all shy about telling her that I was a "fellow obsessee". We laughed a bit, and then that was that!!! So, there are definitely others out there - but we were sure of that anyway, right?
That's funny E, it's fun to run into strangers that love Twilight too, it connects in a way :)
The movie that my brother saw was "Iron Man." So that's exciting to know that it's on other previews besides just dumb Speedracer.
exactly--but he said it wasn't any longer than the one on the computer--We made him sit and watch it from beginning--
but one good thing, he also thought it looked like its gonne be a good movie and he and my daughter both were saying that they'd watch it but werent interested in the book-yet. they will be afterward though.
E, I too love running across strangers who are fellow twilighters. Kind of like running your long lost cousin huh? There's like this instant bonding; a kinship huh-LOL!
