With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

SM on Ellen! and other Updates for the Week

Just a reminder for anyone who is interested, that Stephenie Meyer will be on the Ellen Show on Wednesday (Sept. 17th) at 4:00 on channel 4. Will we finally, after 2 1/2 weeks of nothing, hear something about Midnight Sun? I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I will put some things that Ellen said about the interview in the comments of this post. 9/16 - MTV Tuesday has Robert explaining why his lullaby wont be used in the movie. Here. Robert has really grown on me. Not that I think he is anything like Edward, for Heaven's Sake! But I like him. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. Too bad about his song.

And here is a very painful explanation of the "Spider Monkey" controversy. I thought some of you girls would get a kick out of this: (bear in mind the teenage fan-base thought Spider Monkey is drool worthy. Gag-worthy was my reaction, but oh-well, no-one asked me to write or cast the movie. Darn it.)
MTV: Are there any lines of dialogue that make you particularly proud?
Rosenberg: Well, I can tell you this: "Spider monkey," I believe, comes from Rob Pattinson. I didn't actually write "spider monkey."
MTV: Really? Because the fans already love that line in the clips we've seen when Edward tells Bella, "You better hold on tight, spider monkey!"
Rosenberg: That was an improv.
MTV: So is that one of the things where a screenwriter sees the movie and says, "Sweet improv!" Or do you go, "He ruined my script! 'Spider monkey' is not accurate!"
Rosenberg: [Laughs.] Well, what I should say is, "I came up with spider monkey on my own. I wrote that."
MTV: Someday that could be the new "This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" — or something like that.
Rosenberg: Exactly.

So here is a comment from Ellen about the interview:

""Twilight" series of books (and will soon be watching the movies!). I am thrilled to announce that Stephenie is giving me a rare TV interview on Wednesday! Her latest book in the series, "Breaking Dawn," is about a teenage girl who is torn between her love for a caring vampire and a sweet-natured werewolf. (Why are the good ones always taken?!) Stephenie was also writing a new book from Edward the Vampire's point of view, but certain chapters got leaked online, and now she might not even release it! (I'm gonna try my best to talk her into it, or at least have her give me the scoop on what happens!)."

Hmmmm...I really shouldn't get my hopes up...

Thanks for keeping us up to date friend. Don't be sad if I add to your post. I am so glad you got around to posting some information. I have slacked.

Does it drive anyone else crazy that the greater population still says Bella was choosing between Edward and Jacob. Sigh. It was never a choice, and the book isn't about that at all.

Oh well, I'm with you, so nervous almost to hear what SM will say about Midnight Sun. Just thinking about it is making me kind of anxious. Crap. She had better help us feel better. Go Ellen!mys

Ellen can talk her into finishing the book. Maybe we should go to the Ellen website and petition her to get SM to finish Midnight Sun even if she just puts it up on her website...I don't care I just need more Edward. I hope they have the clip online...I don't think I can take another day off just to stay home and watch Ellen. :)

lioness said...

How funny you should suggest that because that is exactly what I was just doing. I am emailing to beg and make sure they have all the current numbers on support polls, petitions, etc. But I'm sure hearing from more of us wouldn't hurt!

Yeah - I'm going down right now to TIVO it!! How exciting that Ellen even said that she wants to ask SM about it! Fun news!!!

Esmessence said...

Hey - no pressure MA, but I really am looking forward to the new quote of the week - does your week still start Monday night...yeah!!!

Trish said...

By the way, YES! It does drive me crazy that people say that about the books, ESPECIALLY the last one, she wasn't torn between choosing who to love and be with, but least of all in BD. It just shows how little so many people really know about the real story.

Also, love those quotes too, I check everyday to see if they're still the same...no pressure of course.

Trish said...

And I'm so glad you're going to TIVO it E! Just in case you know. I would be the one to forget to watch it! Scouts is at 4:15 that day, crap!

lioness said...

I almost hope it happens while I am distracted. I really am acutally nervous to hear what SM will say. Gulp. I want her to clear this up so desperately. I'm watching her site double time.

Trish said...

Oh my goodness, thank you for the new quote! I LOVE that you put both of their thoughts in it! So awesome. I'm out of words for the coolness of it. This is going to be fun doing quotes like this!!

I read some stuff about the spider monkey improv on the other site and thought the same thing. Oh please. She's only saying it's cool and wishes she could take the credit because all the teenagers (and some of the wacky older ladies) are just dying over it. Silly.

So, do we know if that picture is actually the interior of a Volvo? Anyone, mmmm? (It's not as cool if it's not..............kidding! Really though, most "makes" have that similar look on the inside, you know?)

lioness said...

So we have GOT to find out if that interior is the Volvo. Lets cross our fingers they have one at the movie. You know I have NEVER seen the new Volvo around town. The assignment is, if you see one, look inside. Be brave. This would be an ultimate trivia fact to know!

You know the next time I have a minute, ha ha, more like waste a minute just because I want to, I will look on the Volvo website and see if they have a picture of the interior.

lioness said...

So I just took that minute I decided to waste, since the kids aren't quite home yet.
Take a look at this link for the Volvo C30 and tell me what you think:

lioness said...

Well that was a WASTE!!!! My entire afternoon glued to the TV for NOTHING.
And that Stupid boring lexicon doesn't even have any info up about it yet. Geez they should hire me except I think I am taking a break. I just get so bugged about this stuff.

So the preview said Ellen was going to ask about MS, but not one word. It was just the same old yada-yada we've already heard a million times. I'll bet anything she said she didn't want to talk about it. You'd think the perk of being on Ellen could cheer her up just a bit. Huh?

lioness said...

I need to add to that Volvo link, you have to click on "advanced audio system". Hopefully that doesn't give away the surprise.

Amy Dobson said...

Sweet...thanks for doing the work for us TM and looking up the volvo website...that was a cool surprise.

Sucks that SM wasn't more forthcoming on Ellen. I only watched the snipit they have on Ellen's website. Maybe we should find her down and make her talk. Doesn't her sister live in Utah? Maybe we could find her. I don't know...but I need more Edward.

Trish said...

Oh that is so awesome!! What cool people to take the picture the right way! It means even more now. We know what the inside of Edward's car looks like, just one more thing to picture!

Thanks!

BTW- Yes the Ellen show was so LAME! Even if she didn't get anything good on MS, at least it could have been a funny interview or something. The vampire jokes at the first were pretty funny though, I must admit. I bet anything that SM requested not to talk about it, that has to be it! Especially since Ellen teased about it so much before the show, she would have at least still mentioned it I think. So now I'm even more mad at Stephenie, let's find her and MAKE her tell us, good idea!

lioness said...

Hi friend. You do realize of course that the C30 isn't really Edwards car. But cute that is authentically the movie Edwards real stereo front.

Of course the S60R had a totally different look.
I don't suppost I should admit that I looked that up too, should I?

Lets hire a detective to solve this Midnight Sun madness. I am having a yard sale, so that could be our deposit.

Esmessence said...

Now you are having the yard sale? What did I miss??
I haven't watched the clip since you are all saying that it isn't worth it - very depressing. Good thing we always have our beautiful Forks pictures to sit beside our 'other' triple combination and make us sigh and smile, oh and don't forget we also have small clips and paragraphs of BD - better yet beloved "UNFINISHED" MS!! There are things to smile about, right?

Annalyn said...

Well, I ended up watching this clip on Ellen just last night - can I just say - how RETARDED!!! I mean, duh, don't they know that everyone already knows all that silly 'beginning' stuff - we want more meat people!! And what was is, like barely 2 minutes!! Wouldn't you think that SM would want to talk about new things? Anyway, I was extra grumpy afterwards!

Dazzled said...

I can't find the post for your Forks trip, so I;ll just comment here. The following link is from CNN and it talks about Forks tourism - fun! (Copy & past into your web browser) http://www.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/getaways/09/23/vampire.tourism.ap/index.html

I was able to read some of the articles on Forks and their increase in tourism (thanks RWV) - so fun to picture those places as well. It is so magical - and I loved all the comments about how the line is VERY thin between reality and fiction...so true!
