With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

Oh and here is the car: Go and read this link about it. Pay attention to the first line. Hillarious!
Guess what? Some wonderful person typed out the entire chapter. So if you don't want to wait to own a copy, take a look. I skimmed it and it looks right to me. Yeah, now Ruth can read it too!!!

But Sunday night we will get to see an entire movie clip from MTV. They are showing it as part of their MTV awards night. So by later Sunday evening it will be on line. Well this is a preview to the clip. Very cool. It's just photo stills, but:

This is a test . . . Breaking Dawn chapter 1

Whenever there are long periods of blog inactivity (which was more last week than this week) I start to wonder if I need to keep adding info on the blog for others. I keep myself happily up to date daily (which sometimes takes minutes and other times hours, but its my hobby, so I relish the time), but of course keeping everyone else up to date is my pleasure, if needed.

When RWV and I first started TwilightersAnonymous we joked about how different people react to Twilight as a fan. Everyone has different levels of addiction need. The two of us are on the highest level, needed almost daily fixes. Others can enjoy Twilight with weekly doses, still others even less. So this post is for those fanatical enough to be counting down the days, hours, minutes until Breaking Dawn chapter one is in our hands. The test: are you fan enough to need it?

Saturday, May 31st, 9:00 am. - RWV and I will pick up my Special Edition Eclipse with the first chapter of Breaking Dawn. We expect to be at the Village Inn at Southtowne Mall by 9:20.

Anyone who would like to read the chapter along with us, meet us there. An RSVP in these comments would let us know how big of a table we need.

Obviously if you respond to this post, you are fan enough. For fun, read my first comment. These were the levels of fan commitment I used to send my friends when they asked us about our Twilight fan club. And as always, don't take me too seriously.

Breaking Dawn teaser?

Hi there, my sister sent me an email with the supposed cover of Breaking Dawn (which we'll confirm on May 31st), and on the poster it has a brief conversation. I am not going to share the picture, per request from MA (does she have self control or what?), but I am going to share the lines that are printed on it. Make of it what you will, but it's already starting to drive me crazy, I can only imagine how I will feel after we get to read the first chapter of BD on Saturday! So here goes:

"Don't be afraid," I murmered.
"We belong together."
I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words.
This moment was so perfect, so right,
there was no way to doubt it.
His arms wrapped around me,
holding me against him....
It felt like every nerve ending in my body was a live wire.
"Forever," he agreed.
So, of course I know what I hope it might be referring to, but who knows! Love to hear what anyone else might think! Thanks for the heads up Cullenized!

My Trip to Forks

Hi everyone! My name is Joy, I am a mom of two kids, and a fanatic about all things Twilight, like all of you kindred spirits on this blog. I have been reading and enjoying your site for some time now, but this is my first time posting. I am so excited about re-reading all the books together and discussing, and I am following along with all of you. Anyway, my sisters and I made a pilgrimage back to Forks, Port Angeles, and La Push last November, and I thought you might be interested in seeing the pictures! I am the person in the brown coat.

All in all, it was such a fun trip! Especially to go with my sisters and mom, so we could be silly and laugh together the whole time. I would recommend not going in November, but then, it is Forks, so you probably wouldn't have good weather any time of the year!

TW Movie Poster

Has nobody else seen the movie poster? And if you have, why haven't you mentioned it? I was so excited to see it yesterday at Jordan Commons! Maybe I'm over-reacting because we have seen the preview and all that but come on! For some reason seeing the movie poster makes it seem so real. Like it's really happening. And we are going to be able to sit in those theater seats and eat popcorn and see our favorite story brought to life. It is way too exciting!

Group Read: Midnight Sun Chapter One

Midnight Sun chapter one - is an amazing experience. Try it side by side with Twilight chapter one. Read Edwards thoughts and reactions along with Bella's. You will be blown away!

Then tell us all about your experience here.

Group Read: Chp 1 -2

Any thoughts on the scripture?

I know we can't keep going back to the first time we read, but what did you think of the preface? And now knowing the end, really the preface is a thought we don't hear Bella have later in the book.

Chapter 1
Alicewannabe noticed so much foreshadowing. Did you?

I want to know what your impression of Bella is at this point. What do you think of her reasons to come to Forks? Can you feel those uncomfortable, newest girl in school feelings? Has SM captured you yet?
Music for this chapter is "Why Does it Always Rain on Me." You can listen to it on the blog I-pod. Here is a link for the lyrics.

Chapter 2
What are your favorite parts from Bella's first real encounter with Edward?
Music for Chp. 2: "I'm not okay", by My Chemical Romance,
Does it fit?
Warning: this song gets pretty hard. Its from SM's play list, but it does tell you more deeply about Bella's emotions than she might be letting on. Also this link is an edited version. It edits out one word, but I advise this version. I also recommend not getting too creeped out by the picture of the band. Yak.
Chapter 3
Comment on anything you noticed, loved, made you think, etc.
In particular
  • What are your impressions on Charlie, and he and Bella's relationship
  • Edward has so many varied interactions with Bella in this chapter. What were your impressions.
  • Besides the accident, which is of course, pivotal, I think one other significant even happens in this chapter. This is the night she starts dreaming of Edward. What do you think of Bella's many vivid dream? Are they significant?

You know you are addicted to herion... I mean TW when,,,

I just got back from a cruise to Mexico,,,, Of course I carried all 3 TW books as well as the host, along with my shoes cuz my suitcase was too heavy... but that is a different story.

SO, you know you are addicted to TW when....

Instead of enjoying the sites and entertainment on the ship, I was too busy almost tripping down the stairs trying to see if the books that people were reading were TW... not only once, but many times.

you are in Cabo San Lucas looking at a menu in spanish and you don't understand anything,,, but you see "vampiros" on the menu and you don't care what it is, you have to order it. (it was actually very good and we ordered more)

You FREAK out in Mazatlan cuz you finally see a volvo (it has been like 4 days ya know) and that volvo is a tractor,,, but you are SO excited anyway.

You are on a truck... actually the back of a truck with 14 other people and even though you have 3rd degree burns on your arm and finger from the rope on the zip line, all you care about it making sure that EVERYBODY with you knows all about TW and how they HAVE to read it.

You donate your Twilight book to the ships library, because they don't have it there and you MUST share this with everybody possible.

You get into TW trivia debates with your sister and you have book in hand to prove her wrong, when you should be out dancing (you are on vacation, you know!)

You make a TW shrine on your nightstand with all your TW books and the host, making sure that nothing else is on there that could possible move the perfect way you have set up the books.

You shop for topaz or heart shaped crystals at the shops on the ship as well as the stores on land.

You are on a 600 foot zipline, 80 feet in the air and you can almost feel that Edward is with you the whole time (SO much fun!!)

Yup, I am addicted!!!!

What's New?

As is Forks - When it rains, it pours.

I have added so many posts today. This may be how it goes for the next few weeks. So don't get overwhelmed. Just check out one a day or something. Everyone has been very busy so we haven't seemed to need our updates as much. I'll keep posting them if you need the diversion.

*Quotes will be easy so I don't know if I will have a post to guess them in.
*Keep your ears open for more new music.
*Watch for the "reading schedule"
*Movie News
*Our experience at SM's signing
*and fluff along the way.

Coming up next Saturday, May 31st, the Eclipse Special Edition is released. This will include the cover of Breaking Dawn and the first chapter of Breaking Dawn. I pre-ordered my copy ages ago. Some of us are going to get together to read it together that morning. Around 9:30. More details to follow soon. If you aren't that fanatical then put yourself on the list to borrow it. Even though I know it will leave us hanging, something like "and I started down the stairs to make Edward mine forever, when a loud crash made me slip on my gown and twist my ankle." And then nothing. I just know it will be a cliff hanger like the beginning of New Moon.
OH WELL! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

And if anyone finds any more spare time, ha! I know, I could use some feedback on these discussion links; Jacob's future and my latest Bella for Vampire theory (some of you have already seen this one.)

Reading Twilight Together

Well everyone is VERY BUSY. So I am going to wait until I hear from a few of you before we start the official read-together. I am some how hesitant to start myself. I don't want such a good thing to be over to soon. But I want to take my time too. Or else read if ravenously and then go back and take my time.

Are you ready?

First Impressions

Until we start reading the books together, I have a question:

How did you react to Twilight the first time you read it? Were you one of those people that took a while to figure out Edward or like me who locked on to the pages of that book like a vice from the minute he said, "Hello,"?

For me it was a surreal experience. I wish I could remember even more so that I could paint a more vivid picture, but here are some impressions still with me. I would love to see a picture of myself reading it because the stunned look on my face, page after page can't be duplicated. It was a once in a life-time experience. I remember sitting for hours at my kitchen table, transfixed. Sometimes looking up and around my silent house just to see if anyone was possibly watching my unexplainable reactions, facial and verbal, to this book. There are so many emotions drawn out of you in the reading process. Depression, nervousness, fear, anxiety, excitement, desire, longing, elation, horror, relief, too name a few. And they are hurled so rapidly, that you really don't have time to react so you just keep reading. And then your subconsciousness keeps your mind constantly focused on these emotions and the visions accompanying them. Whether awake or asleep I almost couldn't think of anything else.

I remember the day I started the book, staying up late the night before Back to School night.to work on a poster. But I couldn't work on it because I was reading Twilight. Every once in a while I would look up from the other end of the kitchen table now, and look in shock at how much time had passed on the clock. It is probably only because of that poster than I didn't read through the entire night.

I remember finishing it the next day and shutting it and holding it to my chest, probably shaking my head and thinking, this isn't possible. What am I feeling? Then I started reading it again. At first straight through. What had I missed? How did this happen? Could the meadow scene have the same effect on me again. Yes it could!
I lack the words to describe the dramatic and exciting experience it was. This blog is the result though and I am so happy for the books and all of your company.

How did you feel the first time you read Twilight?

Twilight Mom's top 10 List

So there are 10 weeks until Breaking Dawn.

Let's all gasp together. Ready? 1 . . .2 . . .3 . . . "gasp".

To count it down, I am going to post my TOP 10 best and worst moments from the Twilight Books. I have determined these after a long, sad, Twilight reading absence of over 6 months (if you don't count the numerous re-reading of many great parts and quote hunting). So I could change my mind on the order and could have forgotten a very important moment somewhere along the way.

If you want to join in, its REALLY fun and easier than you think. It only took me about 5 minutes to list 10 or so moments of the best and worst of Twilight. It took a little longer to sort them into and order, but of course I didn't take it too seriously, as you might expect. You could add yours as we go. Remember these are just my opinion so be gentle if you disagree.

The worst moments mean those that are the scariest, yuckiest, or most painful either physically or emotionally.
The best moments are just that. The most beautiful, memorable, stirring emotional moments in the books.

Okay . . . Here goes. I list details of my choices in the comments.

#10 Worst Moment in the Twilight Saga:
When Jacob can't see Bella in New Moon because he has changed into a werewolf.

#10 Best Moment in the Twilight Saga:
Its a 3 Way Tie -
  1. When Bella and Edward see each other for their date to prom (see Prom Remix)

  2. The "Benefits" chapter of Eclipse (really called Temper, chapter 8) when Edward comes home and moves hostage Bella from his couch to the bed. Whoa!

  3. Edward and Bella's own top 10 list. See chapter 23 in Eclipse.

Stephenie Signing and more

First I am going to list some links to great recent stuff of Steph.

Times online article: this one is excellent
Publishers Weekly
Deseret news article 1 and article 2
SM on Good Things Utah, make sure you watch both clips. So great.
Be sure to vote on the poll before you watch it and find out the answer.

As for our signing, well it was fabulous. Thanks Dazz and BFB for your the awesome seats, 2nd row!
You know it is hard to describe. Not much happened until "it" happened. We just waited for hours in an auditorium of the most Twilight devoted groupies, gawking at shirts, listening in to conversations, starting on own worthy of others eavesdropping. It was entertaining to watch the many many ladies who are much more showy about their Twilight love. We all worked hard to submit interesting questions for SM to answer, but none of ours were. We stretched, took potty breaks, watched other sillier and less "cool" groups have their pictures taken in front of the stage, and then had some taken of our group. Then suddenly, they announce that Stephenie herself is going to start signing. It was as loud as any rock concert as she came on stage. People were quickly lined up and even though we had about 20 minutes before our turn I still couldn't think of anything worth while to say during the 5 seconds I was in front of her. I was excited nervous but she doesn't intimidate. As much as she amazes me she seems like the type of person you could see yourself being friends with. I mumbled something about putting her "boys" in order of favorites and she agreed it was impossible. But then I didn't have a chance to inform her it was easy. I would have said the obvious; Edward, and a bunch of other guys after that. I like Ian more than Jacob, by the way. But Jacob more than Jared.

After I left the stage I kicked myself for forgetting to tell her I had three boys similar in ages to hers. Oh well, I left her a letter and hope she gets a chance to read it.

She signed for about an hour and then left the stage for a while. More waiting and then out she came again for questions. She launched right into them. To me she seemed a little nervous but funny and just the coolest person. It was fascinating to hear her explanations and stories.

Then suddenly after about 20 minutes, she abruptly stopped. She walked over to the signing table and we all just sat waiting for more. But there wasn't any more. She only talked for 20 minutes. Waaaaah! It took a long time to un-stun ourselves. We didn't want it to be over. Eventually we packed up and went to lunch at the Dodo, for some lovely conversation and excellent food.
It was truly such a delightful experience. Add your own versions, ladies.

Here is a link to a video of our signing. Here is one to the Thanksgiving Point signing. These are both great. There were some new and interesting questions answered at the Denver signing. And the Deseret News has an article about the Salt Lake signings. (and the TA they mention is some other group. Didn't know they existed when we picked our name.)

5/20 Movie Updates

Gorgeous pictures from the set - lot of them, by a professional.

Here is an interview with the screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg. Very educational.

MTV's Twilight Tuesday has an Interview with Taylor video and an article to go with it.

LA Times Article: Excellent. Here is an excerpt:
Thirteen" cinematographer Elliot Davis is also back. "One thing Elliot and I tried to do with our other movies is make them feel real," Hardwicke says. "In 'Thirteen,' Elliot almost breathes with the actor. He's so intimate with them with the camera. When they're feeling something, he's so sensitive that he moves in at the right times. . . . That sort of intimacy is what we're trying to accomplish with this film too."

Next Time Won't You Sing With Me:

So you aren't the most patient fans in the world. So V is done on the older post.
Let's finish:

5/13 - W
5/14 - X
5/15 - Y
5/16- Z
5/17 - meet Stephenie Meyer -
YaHooooooooo!

If I was some kind of miracle worker, I would put together our ABC book as a gift for her.

Host Discussion

We don't want to spoil the story for those still reading. But for those that are itching to start discussing, or just get something off your chest, let's go.
Just don't peek if you haven't finished, but hurry and join us.

Ruth you start in the comments.
I have plenty to say, but I'm a little too vocal sometimes.

Attention Twilighters Everywhere!

So the Lexicon is trying to keep Twilight making records and getting the attention it deserves. The trailer has had almost 2 million views this week, but why not beat the leader on MySpace, Indiana Jones? They need another 2 million views by Monday. Not a problem. We can do our little part here at TA cant we? I am giving this myspace link just to be sure our views count. Its a smaller screen but I don't want to risk our sacrifice not reaping benefits for the movie.

Maybe we could report here on how much of a sacrifice we put forth for this effort.
I have a few minor news bits I will add later, so check back.

5/6 Dazzles Daily or you know you are addicted when. . .

You know you are addicted to Twilight when:

Your friend interrupts you in the middle of a meeting at school, by calling to tell you about the Twilight Trailer, and you start screaming right then and there!

You smile to yourself at a movie theater just because you can't wait for THIS movie.

You spot, like, 5 Volvo's today, no 6, but 5 from the front, which is a newly acquired skill.

And the best moment in a long time:
  • I saw my mom on Saturday. She had the biggest "cat that swallowed the canary" look on her face but wouldn't tell me why. So I searched her car to find out what she was hiding. When I spotted a case with a picture of SM on the back, well you can imagine by now my reaction. (Yes, jumping up and down.) My mom found a copy of Twilight on C.D. at the library. She decided that for my sake she would try it. I couldn't believe she got that with all the holds on that thing. She explained that it wouldn't check out but the librarian let her have it anyway! Of course she plans on giving me some "statement" about how vampires can't be good or something. Too bad she finds the book RIVETING and had to vow not to listen to it on the Sabbath or she would have. YES!

5/6 Quote of the week:

I'm working on another series of quotes, but here is one more from the last set, that I found today and could not leave out. So you will only have a day or two to guess it.

Theme - hairy moments:

"He pulled me close, burying his face in my hair."

Twilight Trailer and Poll Comments

If you don't think these pictures are gorgeous, you may not want to see the movie, because these are the movie stills from the first official Twilight Teaser Trailer. AHHHH! RWV interrupted me in a PTA meeting at school with the news and I start squealing right there in front of 8 or so people. Well worth the squeal though.
LOVE IT! Try these links:

And if you watch it here, you had DARNED better SAY SO!!
Or not, I don't mind just gushing to you RWV! Yippee!

5/3 - Latest News

This is a new promo picture. Click on picture to enlarge. Cool and funky eh?
So I finally figured out how to add a link without having to add the entire address. So each highlighted word in this post is a link to the site with the information. It was very exciting to discover this new power. Yes!

Stephenie didn't win #1 but it is still an honor to be in the Time 100 (so click on "Time 100" and it will take you too the site. So awesome!)
Here is the write up about her.
The Host continues to get good reviews and interviews galore. You'll have to research that stuff yourself. I recommend the Lexicon.
The rest is movie news:
1. MTV Canada has some new footage.
2. This Blogger (not one of ours) has had some interesting visits on the set with pictures.
3. A new interview with Rob from G4. (I liked this one).
4. The official Twilight site has been updated with another message from Catherine.
5. Lexicon on the set with Taylor/Jacob.
6. Pictures from the Twightmoms: Renee and Phil , Arizona house (filmed in L.A.)
Also the Speed Racer/Twilight trailer is not a certainty, hope you didn't already buy your tickets.

the host

The Host was released yesterday here in the UK. But apparently I didn't do my homework very well . . . I was freaking out that I couldn't find the Special Edition of Eclipse anywhere! I even searched for that long awaited first chapter of Breaking Dawn in the paperback edition of New Moon; I was that desperate. My anxiety was calmed after looking up on Amazon.com to find out that the EC Special Edition won't be released here until May 31. So I guess that's one more date to put on my calendar! I was really looking forward to reading that chapter and posting a quote on here for the rest of you. But I guess you'll have to settle for something from The Host.

I am only on page 52 so far, so consider this my first impressions of the book. I don't want to give anything away so I'm hesitant to even post my reactions. Let me just say that my dh noticed I didn't get instantly immersed into the book like I did with the other books. I think the hardest thing for me will be to not compare this book to SM's others. Having said that, however, there are some obvious differences in her style of writing (in my opinion). The Host has been harder for me to "get into." This is definitely not a YA book: vocabulary is at a higher level and it's a little hard to follow the story at first.
Anyway, I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks. Amazon said it comes out in the US on May 6th, just 4 more days to go. I'll post some quotes in the comments so don't read them if you don't want to. . .
