This is straight from the Lexicon this morning. Love the last line. That is so US!
Summit Entertainment has now officially listed Twilight in its pre-production section. They also have a poster mock-up that is heavily based on the original book cover (this is not to say it is the final poster design.).
Some highlights from their description: " Based on the #1 New York Times Bestselling series by Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT is a cultural phenomenon, with a fanatic fanbase that eagerly awaits this movie. Critically acclaimed director Catherine Hardwicke brings to life this modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair — between vampire and mortal."
Fanatic fanbase…who…us?"

Oh, I love it. It would be so great if they stayed so close to the book. I'm sure that is what all of us want. But what a great start! So excited to keep hearing news about casting and such. Like you said MA, I didn't want to care or be excited about the movie. But, alas, I'm sucked in again!
I went to the website and read the full synopsis (I think that's the right thing to say here) and it's a little different of course, but I think if we all prepare ourselves that it's not going to be the same or how we want it, then we might just be pleasantly surprised! Because I'm really starting to get excited about the movie as well, even though I said wouldn't either. I keep checking the Lexicon to see if anyone else has been cast, Edward has to be next in line right? Isn't it going to be so cool to see that poster hanging on the walls of Jordan Commons or whatever movie theater it plays in?
O my! The thought of posters hanging on movie theater walls. Yep, that gets me SOOOOOO excited. I have a feeling I will make a little bit of a scene the first time I see that at a theater. What will my husband think? I too check daily for the Edward casting. I'm just guessing it's next. Anticipation galore!
Trisha, what website did you go to that has a movie synopsis? I've have to check it out! I agree about the movie posters! I get chills thinking about it. I know, it's just plain pathetic. I love what Stephenie said on the lexicon about giving the actor who plays Edward a chance. And, yum, she's so right about Orlando Bloom. I was pretty much drooling at the end of the last pirates movie when he's has the bandana on.
Jill, and others, here is the link to Summit Entertainment.

Look under pre-production.
I just hope the synopsis isn't exactly right. It's fine, but they already have many key poit WRONG!
