With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

the tiniest bit of Therapy

Still no encouraging word from our dear author. But I remembered a fan-fiction that actually gets fairly close to the mark. No its not SM. No its not as good, but it is good and it at least gives us a good description of the meadow. Of course that is where is ends so be prepared for that as well.

I am VERY picky about fan-fiction that I will actually recommend. This is one of two. The Lion and the Lamb. It is written as Edwards perspective by the famous Alphie of the Lexicon founding fame. When she wrote it, a long, long time ago in Twilight time, SM even encouraged her and checked some of her facts. I read a little of the chapters that begin where the REAL Midnight Sun ends, and it was a little therapeutic. Take it or leave it. Just trying to do my part to comfort the broken hearted.
Okay and I am adding one more fanfiction here. This one makes me realize that really we need to read EVERYTHING from Edwards perspective. This one is also very well done, not pure, but very well done.

Oh yes, I really liked this fanfiction. It seems like forever ago that I read it. But this is one of the very few I would recommend reading too. Of course it's not the true story, but a good idea. I might just read it when I'm done with chapter 12, we'll see how devastated I am...sigh...

Oh, I've always been so skeptical of the fan fiction stuff....I think I'll hold off until I am absolutely sure that there will be no more real MS - what am I thinking, though, I'm sure I'll give in...

No silly that is not the point. Deep down I am sure there will be the REal Deal for us. This is just to get us a little further in the story. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't think it was safe. Give me some credit now.

This fan fiction only goes throught the meadow. It didn't hurt anything for me when the real MS came out. I don't think it will hurt at all now either. She is very close to the mark in her writing.

And I noticed as I was reading MS that no slip of Robert or Kristen came through as I pictured my beloved characters. Whew.

And E, I want you to wait for me to start reading side by side.

I'm totally LOVING Midnight Sun. She is SO good at writing. I hope she looks at this blog now and again to see what a true fan I am! I'm sure there are tons of us out there and on this blog, so we should keep shouting our praise! I'll probably read this new "meadow" version you are discussing too. I find myself browsing around, trying to find something I'd enjoy as much as I've enjoyed the Twilight books and mistakenly fell upon Anne Rice, but felt that maybe I'd be disappointed and "icked out", so I took it all back. Any other good, romantic books that you guys can recommend - other than those gooey romances...would be super! I'm falling back onto my Mitford and HOlly Springs books by Jan Karon. All of which I have read before, more than once. That's how desperate I am!

MS is THE best yes! You'll love the fanfiction. Like I told E I wouldn't recommend it if it weren't awesome. I dont think SM will every in her life visit our blog. I did give her the address one of the times I met her at a signing, but you know I can't imagine in my wildest dreams. Plus turkey she would see that although I am also one of her biggest fans I am critical too. Wouldn't want to make her sad.

Anyway, its funny you mentioned asking for recommendations. I was thinking about some books I thought you would really enjoy and just forgot to post it.
I've never read any actual "romance" novels before Twilight so can't help you there but I love books with romance in them.
There is a post with quite a few recommendations on the blog already. If you look at the blog "labels" on the right side, scrolling down quite a bit, there is a label "book reviews". Try some of those. But this one isn't on there. It is superb on CD so go put it on hold at the library right now.
It's called "Crocodile on the Sandbank" by Elizabeth Peters. Be sure it the version read by Barbara Rosenblat. Its a romantic mystery. Let me know if you try it and enjoy.

Above is another very, very good fanfiction. It is Edwards perspective on Bella's change to a vampire. Its really very beautiful and only makes me long for the "real" version of his perspective.

So I started to read the 2nd fanfic link, the one about Bella's transformation, and I'm liking it! The writer has really done a good job so far. I even had to remind myself once that it wasn't real (ha ha, I love to say something about it being real, or the real one). I'm only about half done, I had to leave before I could finish, but I'm actually kind looking forward to seeing how close this person can get to Edward in this situation.
