Another Quote for the Week Jan.15-22

Sorry, I forgot. This one was submitted by Runswithvampires, so she will watch and see how fast you all find it. Even if we do find it quickly it is so wondeful to savor these phrases.
"I let my cheek press against his hair, felt the texture of it on my skin, smelled the delicious scent of him."
Now read it again, slowly. Sigh. . . . . . . . okay now run and find it.

I am waging a guess here, because my husband has my TW book. Is it when Bella is on Edward's back while he is running? I'm thinking that it's on the way to the baseball game.

Esmessence said...

That is so funny - look what time it is...I think it is when they are in Volterra - waiting together to leave the city...but, betacha had a good idea too, so I don't know!

betchafeelbetter said...

I was wrong - still looking...
(And yes I was posting while I was cooking dinner).

Trish said...

Yay! I'm so happy no one has found it yet...
Carry on.

betchafeelbetter said...

Found it! this is one of my favorite scenes - funny and (sigh) wonderful too.

This was driving me crazy - of course it didn't help that I kept getting sucked into actually reading entire wonderful scenes even when I knew it wasn't there.

betchafeelbetter said...

Have to add, that was a good one, RWV! I read that scene at least three times before I found it in there.

lioness said...

Good, tricky is good, and getting caught up reading is good. I have to say in the original quote post we were going to include one extra line. But I think it made it too obvious. The way it read now, this line could happen many delicious places. Keep looking everyone else.

Trish said...

Nice job, I'm glad it took longer than the same day it's posted to find it. Our quotes will have to be much trickier now, I can see. I'm glad we didn't include that first line, it may have given it away even sooner.
I do the same thing, get sucked into reading wonderful scenes that have nothing to do with what I'm looking for, it just can't be helped. I'm glad you got to read it 3 times before you found it. Definitely everyone else keep looking! It's a good one, although aren't they all?

betchafeelbetter said...

Yes, the first line would have sped it up a bit. I got to read a lot of good stuff too!

Esmessence said...

Shoot - the couple places I thought it was, were wrong. It's tricky - Bella pressing her cheek to his hair...I thought it was maybe obvious, but it's not...but, since your husband has TW, BFB, does that mean it's not in that one? Don't give it away yet though, I'm still looking (except I don't want to dive too far into one book - I'm still at the beginning, you know!?)

Esmessence said...

Ok, Joseph keeps rolling his eyes at me every time I pass him (he's watching TV). I keep going back into my black triple combination(can we call it that, I forgot) on my bed, and then walking out back up to the computer. So, anyway, I found it!!! Yeah...I really should have known right where it was, but as you said - tricky!!

Trish said...

Good job! I knew you'd find it soon enough. I guess we'll see if anyone else finds it over the next few days before we divulge its whereabouts. In fact, this is not typical of the blog to have much weekend use.
That is so funny about you going back and forth checking the triple combo, I did the EXACT same thing the other night. I'd go get a book, flip through it, type something, go get another book, come back and sit down, and so on. My husband rolled his eyes, laughed, made remarks he thought were funny, etc.

betchafeelbetter said...

My husband was rolling his eyes at me while I looked for this quote too. I was also going between all three books once he got home.

And HE had a twilight moment last night. He was reading to our daughter, something like this:
"Sally, Suzie and Isabella, Hey! Bella! were three princesses..." He said this all without a pause, except that they "Hey! Bella! was directed at me while the rest was part of the book. I just grinned at him (a big wide Jacob grin)and said, "You just had your first Twilight moment!" He shook his head.

Trish said...

That's great, even husbands aren't immune to having Twilight moments!

lioness said...

It's a new page in your lives and relationships, when husbands start having "Twilight Moments" too. Stick with it long enough and it just becomes part of your lives. Did your husband read Twilight then, BFB?
I'm sorry E that your hubby has an attitude, probably thanks to me. Remember, bargaining power.

Would somebody please post the quote in its entirety and its surrounding circustances? Thanks.

Esmessence said...

It's been too long...I would love to post the quote - I'll let BFB have some time to do it though. She was the first to find it. If she hasn't by the end of the night, I'll do it - happily (it'll let me read it again)

betchafeelbetter said...

This is found after the trip to Volterra, after Bella gets home, wakes up from her 14 hour sleep, and thinks she is dreaming that Edward is there. It is in the middle of page 515. Here is what comes before it.

---
"Lots of pieces of me went missing, too. I haven't been able to really breathe in so long." I filled my lungs, luxuriating in the sensation. "And my heart. That was definitely lost."

He closed his eyes and laid his ear over my heart again. I let my cheek press against his hair, felt the texture of it on my skin, smelled the delicious scent of him.

...I was very much in danger of hoping. I wouldn't be able to stop myself for ong. My heart throbbed, singing in my chest. ---

(All sigh together now, in unison. Now go back to your reading.)

betchafeelbetter said...

And my husband has started reading Twilight, but he's only to the first day where Bella and Edward meet, and Edward glares at her.

He just yelled at me that I stole HIS book, because I brought New Moon in here to type the quote - he thought I had Twilight.

lioness said...

It took me several sighs.
I forgot that she says her heart was "singing in my chest". Too sweet for words.

I'm really not here you guys. Just sneaking in from time to time. Wish I could stay.

betchafeelbetter said...

Sorry I had to laugh at the really not here comment, TM. That's a lot of sighing for someone who's not here!

(And yes, I had to type as far as "singing" because it was just too good to leave off.)

Esmessence said...

Yes, I love the whole thing. Lots of sighing going on here - thanks for the extras.

lioness said...

I'm just here for another moment. Surprised to see you here so late E.

Ruth said...

Oooh, Ahhh, Sigh. . . What a great part to think about.

I have to say, BFB, that is so great about your husband having his own Twilight moments. I was reminded of your comment today when my husband was playing with my new hat (lined with fake fur), turned it inside out, put it on his head so that it covered his eyes and said, "do I look like Jacob?" Hah! Mabye if I keep talking about these books he'll eventually give in to his curiosity and just start reading them.

One more thing: I just finished Twilight for only my second time last night. I couldn't believe I still felt nervous and excited throughout the book, even though I knew exactly how it was going to end. I vaguely remember someone mentioning that before in a post/comment. Can't wait to start NM tonight!

betchafeelbetter said...

Ruth, your story about your husband and your hat made me laugh outloud!

It sounds like your husband is already having Twilight moments, in a husbandy kind-of way.

And he knows about the Volturi and Jacob already - he might as well read the books!

Esmessence said...

In answer to the 'seeing me here late' comment - I know, very surprising. Joseph has been pretty strict with my bedtime (nothing weird, just trying to help me be a better mom - you know, just a getting more sleep so I can be more patient and function better thing)anyway, I was up late trying to help him get ready for a business trip. He flew to Boston today - and while he was packing, guess what he said? "should I take Twilight?" I almost choked out a too eager reply of "Yes, and you could finish the whole thing..." as a tried to gather myself together, I continued, "well, I mean it's such a long flight both ways and everything..." I was so excited, maybe too excited - I kind of scared myself. I then was sad that I haven't gotten a book cover to help protect it - he's known to not be so quite as careful with things as I am. And of course this is no ordinary thing...I haven't gotten a chance to talk with him yet to see where he got too, but boy, I can't wait!!!

betchafeelbetter said...

Ha, ha! My husband has to remind me that it is bedtime too! And hooray for him starting Twilight. This is going to be quite funny with all the husbands reading it at the same time.

Trish said...

These are some great comments I've missed out on. I forgot to check this post, I haven't commented for a couple of days, I know - Weird! Anyway, lots of funny stuff.
First ditto to all your sighing Ruth, love that. And of course how hiliarious about your husband's Jacob comment, I'm amazed how good of attention he's keeping up with the books.
I enjoyed the visual of you "sneaking" in from time to time to comment when you could MA. That's great! I've done the same, but I almost always get caught.
Erin, sooo awesome about your husband starting Twilight! Well...did he? Have you found anything out yet? What a wonderful surprise, something your weren't expecting I'm sure - I can relate.
Unfortunately we haven't started our co-reading yet. For some reason he hasn't finished his book he's on right now. He's really close, perhaps tonight for my birthday we'll begin. I don't want to start his before he starts mine, because I don't want him to go back on his word, I decided it'd be fun to read each other's together anyway. Then I can enjoy TW right along with him. And I'm sure he thinks he can do the same with me, like the books (or our feelings) are even the same!
It will be great if mine, E's and BFB's are all reading at the same time! Anyone else?

lioness said...

Well as soon as all of these husbands are convinced about NM then Dave could read that with them. We had better be careful though. If they catch wind of all this plotting, and find out that they are involuntarily part of the blog, well it could back-fire.

Ruth, ah Ruth, I am just smiling so big knowing how wonderful Twilight is the second time. I knew you would be happier than you realized when you finally broke down and bought it.
Now brace yourself. Is this only your second time through New Moon? I had a pretty hard time the 2nd time through. In some ways it was worse than the 1st and in other ways better. Erin, excuse me, I mean esmessence, has started some wonderful posts to get us through New Moon. Look for those under the new Moon label. Great comments on there and a good place to vent, etc. Very theraputic. In fact I have some New Moon reading advice. I think I will post it so that is shows up under the New Moon label. Some of the New Moon out-takes(sp?) are amazing to read inserted in the correct place. I wish you would have given us a play by play on your reactions during Twilight. Maybe on the 3rd time.

I will save a few new hubby TW-moments for fresh posts but it tickles me more than he knows, that he is having them, often.

Erin (Esm.), holy crow! I can't believe you didn't call and freak out a little over the Joseph thing. And you haven't updated us on his progress. I will try not too get to excited for you!!! But even if he doesn't like it, I think a healhty dose of Edward is beneficial to any husband.

RWV - I expect a big announcement when the reading event begins. Start a fresh post on that one, kay.

I'm sure you have more to post about NM Ruth, I saw that you're already on the chapter "Friends" so you're past the agonizing 3rd chapter. But I too, had a much harder time, well I don't know. I cried harder the 2nd time when he left and I flipped through all those empty months. I think the first time I was in shock. But then again, at least the second time I know he's coming back, so it's bearable that way. It'll be interesting to get your take on that.

I do think we might need a TW-moments for husbands post...
