With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

TA Meeting - The characters of Twilight

You sent a Christmas card to the Cullens, of Forks WA.. You know you could be best friends with Alice. You relate so well to Esme. You hope Charlie finds someone to love, especially after Bella is gone. You wish your teenage daughter had a boyfriend like Jacob.

Why does it feel this way? Well we might not be able to understand the magic Stephenie creates but we love the results. For months now I have wanted to put together my own biographical sketches on our favorite characters. Sadly real life keeps getting in the way. So do you want to help?

I would love for everyone to pick a character and then do a little research about them. Then at the meeting we will present our character, discuss him or her and add others comments to the "sketch". Later I will link all the information together on the blog. Won't that be awesome?
Even if you can't come to the meeting you can help. And of course, if you don't have time in your busy and much more important real life, for doing Twilight research, then of course come to the meeting anyway!!

We need great info on all of the Cullens, on Jacob, Charlie, Renee, and the Volturi would be great! It's first come first choose, so if you would like to help, comment who you would like to research. If you want to help but need more direction, well that is what I am here for.

To get you started, here is the link to the Lexicon biographies and personal correspondences. The character bios are very thorough but lack description. Add color to our characters. What do they say that you love, how would you describe them, etc. The personal correspondences give more color and are always a great read.

I hope this doesn't sound intimidating (or boring for that matter). I think we will have a great discussion with this topic.

This sounds so great to me. I love all the characters (well I don't love the Volturi) but I'm intrigued by all of them. I'm very willing to research absolutely anyone. Even if it's Seth Clearwater or Aro, I don't care. Others of you may have a preference, which is great - so please, everyone who's coming (and I hope it's everyone!) go ahead and pick whose character you want to delve deeper into, and I'll choose last after I see what's left. I totally have no first choice, I'm just looking forward to seeing who chooses who, and which ones we're going to learn more about! Fun idea huh! I love TA...

Oh, here it is! I'm very excited for the topic of discussion this month. I loved reading all the info on the characters at the Lexicon...I'm not sure who to choose though! I will decide shortly...

The faithful! Yeah you gals, you are getting me excited. As soon as people choose I will e-mail you a guideline, so it should be easy and very fun. Remember it is like a hobby. Such a happy hobby. And it brings others joy. What better way to spend your precious time!

Pretty funny that we always seem to know when the other one is "spending their precious time" Yes, such a happy hobby. I was just thinking that when I was posting my chapter of NM - I thought, "this little hobby is making me think back to when I wrote things for English" - what a fun way to increase my wisdom (which is always a New Year's resolution of mine). Do you think it counts if it's the same book over and over (hee, hee)!

By the way, yes I do what Alice's hair and dress looked like on her wedding day. So cute...fun to picture.
I know you'd all enjoy learning as well. :)

Yes I do think it counts even if it is the same book, and my English major, very brilliant friend thinks so too. Besides we are talking 1800 pages. That is a great deal of material.

So the meeting is coming right up. Does anyone really have time to do a little research?

R.W.V.,I think you should take Alice.
Erin, who would you like to work on? Esme and Carlisle perhaps?

Here you go again MA trying to break me out of my shell, making me have to talk in front of people! LOL but seriously, this is good for me. I think this is a really great and fun idea, I'm off to read the bios and choose my character! ttyl

Jenn I am so proud of you. And of course you don't really have to talk in front of others. We aren't others, we are all family, vampire loving family. It will be so FUN! You are adorable!

Annalyn said...

Yes, I will do Esme and Carlisle - I still haven't heard from R...I'll try to get a hold of her again in the next couple of days!

Trish said...

That's fine I can do Alice. Unless someone else wants her, I'm happy to do whoever, so speak up people! Who are you going to do MA? What about you Jenn?

lioness said...

I am going to do everyone who isn't chosen. Of course I would really like to post every detail about Edward but I guess we can give him a little less attention this once. Jenn who would be interesting to you?

Erin I actually did hear from "Hudson" and she is coming. Hooray!

I will e-mail you guys whatever I can on your characters tonight!

Sorry I haven't commented until now. But without Twilight, and being across the ocean, I didn't really think I could help. But if there is still someone that needs to be done (maybe that doesn't show up in Twilight) I'm happy to do it. I'm still without a job so I've got plenty of time. Just let me know. Erin and "Hudson" have my email address if you need it.

You are so sweet Ruth. I think we have it covered. We will post our discussion after Thursday though and you can add anything you want to it! Wish you could come. Someday we will figure out how to have you join by satellite.

Hmmm...so maybe I should have picked Emmett after all. I knew I have always loved him, but I really have special spot for him for some reason. If I have time, I'll look up stuff about him when I'm done with Alice!

I know I won't be at the mtg for long, but is there anyone that hasn't been picked? Uh, Jacob, hello? No, really, I'm fine doing anyone. I will only be there for the first hour or so, though. Cydne, are you coming?

lioness said...

Well Jill, I assigned myself Jacob as therapy. I like him, I do, I just have issues. Deep issues. Like I have found so many gorgeous things I want to share about Edward that we are going to need a night just for him.

Also everyone is assigned to read "being Jacob Black" on Stephenie's website, under NewMoon extra's. There is so much insight here to the story, and to Jacob. It will really add to the conversation tomorrow. Even if you have read it before, read it again.

We will need your comments on everyone Jill, you have such good insights. I hope we can squeeze it out of you before you have to leave. Isn't there anyone else we can discuss with you besides Jacob?
How about Aro. He is a cool character.

I was just teasing about Jacob. I know you have issues with him, I had to give you a hard time. I loved that Being Jacob Black extra. It was so insightful. I will try to find some time to get that in before tonight. So excited! I'm so happy to just be able to come, I don't need an assignment, I'll will just enjoy all the discussion.

Oh...
Well I never did get back to the questions I was asked did I? Sorry I sometimes forget where I leave msgs and to check the box! Erin I didnt realize you wanted to do Esme, I am sorry! I am just reading these comments now,AFTER the meeting. MA just let me tell you this was a really great topic! I really enjoyed it, and for some reason felt a little more closeness to the group while we were talking about the bios, even though I was late.Anyone else?

Annalyn said...

Thanks Suzanne for hosting, and thanks MA for organizing. I loved hearing all the extras and being reminded again of why we each love these characters so very much! Maybe we can talk more about Edward's character when we meet for the 'romance' in February - I did miss discussing him!

Trish said...

Yes, thank you Suzanne for hosting, whenever you get around to reading this. I thought the topic was awesome! I loved finding out things I never knew, which I thought were few, so that was very fun! Yes, I agree, I look forward to talking more in depth about Edward and Bella for the February meeting. With, of course, the specialty topic for that night being the "cherry on top".

You are all very welcome. It is very nice to know you aren't all just playing along to be nice to me. I mean that would be quite a sacrifice. There are other ways to be nice to a friend. It would be like me signing up to be a pampered chef sales-girl to help Erin earn pampered chef products, or becoming a Creative Memories employee to help Trisha earn scrapbooking supplies.
I'm just glad to know that you really, genuinely are in it for your own enjoyment, which is great and satisfying. I wish SM had time to realize what a nice thing she has done for us. Dave was reading over my shoulder tonight, again in disbelief. I'm assuming his stupor had to do with the fact that this hasn't gone away, or even faded yet.
Little does he know. . ..

Btw, Suzanne I never did thank you. Thankyou, for allowing us the use of your home, and for being such a nice and friendly hostess. It was greatly appreciated.
