Breaking Dawn Blues and Predictions

Many of us have pre-BD anxiety, but even worse, will we have post BD - blues. This is worse than day after Christmas. But we will have the book to savor again and again.

I have my own fears of what I will do without my friends, both fictional and my Internet blogging buddies, all of you. We wont have as much to talk about and I don't know what I will do without it. This year has been surreal in some ways. Nothing I could have ever predicted. So when the Breaking Dawn buzz dies down, and the post-blues fade, don't forget TA, okay? Stop by now and then to check in. Let's plan the Midnight Sun reunion right now!

At least we have the movie and Midnight Sun to look forward too. And of course I know there are many other wonderful aspects of life to look forward to as well. Right?

In anticipation of tomorrow night, be thinking of a prediction that you are 100% sure will happen in the book. Lets get gutsy and lay them out there. You can brainstorm here, but we will talk about them over dinner and dessert tomorrow. If you aren't joining us, give us some food for thought here.

Also be thinking of favorite moments of the series to share. Not the dramatic ones we all hold dear, but little things that make Twilight endearing to you.

MOVIE, MOMENTS, AND MORE!

Update: July 19 - I just had the most delightful Twilight Moment, so I thought I would share it with all of you. I opened my mailbox, very uncommon, nothing every worth looking at in there, ruffled through the growing stack (really I bring it in like, once a week), when my eye caught a bulging letter. Insurance bills I figured. Then I glanced at the return address. In big, script, lovely letters it read: OLYMPIC PENNISULA - gasp, flutter, its my travel brochures from Forks. I clasped it to my chest and came to write this before I have even opened it.

I started Eclipse with the epilogue from New Moon. I like to leave my New Moon a little more peaceful. This will be our fastest read yet, so fewer posts.

Stephenie Meyer is coming to SL on 101.9 The End!!!!

Okay, a couple of thing. First, this is my first post, and since I am not nearly as spectacular as MaryAnn, I am not going to try to fancy this up. But I just heard on the radio that SM is coming to SL and will be interviewed on the Parker show on 101.9 the end!!!!! It will be on July 29th, and he wants to bring 3 ladies on the show to do the interview. Mostly, it is because he doesn't know anything about the book. So.....I think that we should all apply to be on the show. You have to send an email to Parker@1019theend.com and put Stephenie Meyer in the subject line, then tell him why you are a fanatic! I think if there is a crazier group in Salt Lake, it has to be only the Twilight Mom's. But we have to be second. I don't know anyone who knows this book inside and out like us. So if we all apply/send emails, then hopefully one of us will get on!!! How cool would that be?!!!?

Okay, so, everyone open up your email and send Parker an email, requesting to be on the show! We have to get on there!!! Good luck!

P.S. I just noticed, we are almost to 10 days!!!! I cannot even stand it! Can you imagine when we are in the single digits! Then all our questions will be answered and our torment will be over. 14 DAYS!!

Now I won't spoil it for anyone by listing them on the front page daily, if you want to check them out you'll have to click on the comments. So I decided to jump the run-away busy train for an hour this afternoon. I enjoyed so much catching up on the blog last night, despite the hour, that I decided I needed this happy time during the day. A rest. Ahhh.

I haven't updated much news because it is all getting just a little boring. I don't want to list over and over the Host successes or more interviews from minor places with minor actors and actresses. But here is a collection of worthy to read and look at stuff.

• SM is taking BD spoilers very seriously. She has asked all fan web-sites to halt all message boards starting July 14th. Of course the Lex will comply. I'm glad we don't have to worry about any spoilers here. Can you imagine how badly that would ruin things?
  
• Along those same lines, she is going to post a BD quote per day for something like 21 days. I really don't know if I can handle reading the quotes. I need your input here. I mean did you see how worked up we got over the preface. Truly I don't think I can handle reading them. What do you all think?

So since I'm in charge here, I'd like to save the Epilogue as part of the Eclipse discussion. That is how I like to read it. I hate the peace of Bella and Edward being back together, being so short before emotional turmoil sets in again. So oblige me, please.

New Moon, chp 4-14

From "Waking Up" until "Killer"

So that's a huge range, but this is a book to read quickly and to try to get over quickly. The Jacob parts are sweet and enjoyable, the Edward voice parts are to be hurried through before they crush you. So sum up thoughts, insights, etc.

New Moon Chap. 1-3

Well, I think like many of you, the thought of reading NM just brought a feeling of anxiety and sadness! And of course the beginning, is the worst...SM didn't waste any time did she? But, in getting through these first 3 chapters yet again, I've found that I was more at peace than any other time. Of course the most obvious explanation for that is because I have read them so many times, I already know what is going to happen in "The End". But, I also think that I was able to enjoy more of the details of what went on in this day and half, and I focused more on what Bella was feeling as she thought SHE was going to leave too.

Because I love to scrapbook, my heart was triggered as she felt the urge to start documenting her time in Forks. I can't imagine doing it, because you thought you were leaving. But, I know we can all feel that urgency in SM's writing as Bella suddenly realized that this might be her last few days in what she now considered HOME.

And of course, since we all know the end of NM, you can't help but put yourself into Edward's mind in the beginning. I think that is what helped me through these chapters as well, knowing that Edward was forcing himself - through pure agony - to go through with his decision...right vs. wrong...as he states to Bella the night of her birthday!

Anyway, I know it's tough, but you can get through these chapters...just think of what wonderful pages lie ahead (way ahead, unfortunately...).

I know we are all in our 'summer business' mode - planning vacations, family reunions, trying to maintain some sort of organization and structure in our children's lives. But, I know I am not the only person who sees our little countdown timer whenever I log on to my favorite blog, right???

People - it says 30 days on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you not be freaking out?!

I am in a pretty great spot in New Moon - maybe I need to make another post on that - I don't think I'm the only one still reading...

Anyway, I just wanted to give some much needed notice and attention to the fact that in less than one month - we will be devouring yet another masterpiece of one of our favorite authors! I can't believe how much I am still getting dazzled reading these books yet again - so many new thoughts and insights...I love it!!

BREAKING DAWN CELEBRATION DETAILS!!

HI ESMESSENCE , TM here now - do not worry, we are DEFINITELY FREAKING OUT! So in honor of this special day on the counter, here are the details for the best way to read that book coming out in less than 30 days now:

1. Breaking Dawn Book Review:

Join TA members Saturday August 2, for an all out gush fest over Breaking Dawn. We are all quite confidant we will have finished by then since we are picking up our books at midnight the night before. At almost 800 pages that is a rate of 44 pages per hour (for 18 hours, if you don't sleep). Hmmm that is a daunting number. I am going to time myself for an hour and see how many pages I read of New Moon.

Anyway that puts us meeting at 8:00 pm. I can't decide where yet, but I may owe a few people cheesecake, so somewhere they serve that.

2. Slumber Party:

Not a cyber party this time, its the real deal. Some of us want to relive our freedom years and one of us is hyper-social and needs to have people to squeal with at regular intervals. But we all know we are going to neglect our families for at least 24 hours. So we are planning a Breaking Dawn "read-together". We won't actually read the book together, but meet and read at the same time and place. We have reserved a beautiful "temple-view" bed and breakfast - The Cowdell House. Okay the Cowdell's is actually Trisha (RWV) and Jenn's (Cullenized) parent's house. They will be conveniently out of town that Friday night/Saturday. So anyone is welcome to join as long as you don't mind slumber -party style. You will be free to seclude yourself as much as possible. We'll just meet every so often to scream or cry together or whatever is required. Oh and the breakfast will be pot-luck. (We chose this location for the price/ - free. Well we thought we could kick in a little and give Trisha's parents a dinner out as a thank you). More details on this date to come as well!!!
