So I love, love, love the Alice. She is going to look perfect at least.
Carlisle isn't what I pictured but he has a lot of different looks in his pictures and I think he will be great.
I really like the Esme. For me she is as good as anyone I have ever pictured.
Rosalie certainly better have blonde hair. With that she ought to be perfect.
This is so fun. When the casting calms down we can get back to some serious discussion.

WOW!!! is about all I can say!! It is soooo much fun to put faces with the characters. I'm surprised that they cast James as being so handsome - they might have to ugly him down a little - but then, his looks weren't really a key part of his character anyway. I was surprised to see what Erik Yorkie looked like too. So far, I think casting for all the female characters has been about as perfect as possible, hair color can be changed easily enough. Carlisle wasn't quite what I pictured either, but I can see it working out. I really can't wait to see who they pick for Jasper & Jacob now!! I'm still trying to come to terms with Robert Pattinson as Edward :(

And the "other actor" - that boy has a bicep! Are you thinking dark, curly hair? Or long, blonde hair?(since this is under the vampire post?)
I think he looks more like a blonde Emmett, maybe they'll darken his hair. He seems too stocky to be Jasper, but it's hard to tell without seeing him standing next to someone else. Ooohhhh, I just can't wait for the movie now!!!
Jasper is cast. Its not even on the Lexicon, but I believe it. His picture is on this post now. I'm betting yesterday's guy is Emmet for sure but still no confirmation on that.
I think he is older than his most popular picture on the web. That is why I chose this one. By the way, I think he is AWESOME! He is going to match with Alice so well.
I even think this guy was mentioned on SM's original list of people to play characters. Not for Jasper but for someone.

Sorry I'm not keeping up with everyone's comments, but I will soon. Anyway I did read that article and decided all this movie stuff is driving me crazy. It is actually extinguishing my enthusiam and making me worried about the movie. E. pointed out that who cares about the movie when we have Breaking Dawn? Thank you E. Of course we care about the movie, but if they get all of our characters messed up, at least we have the pure source. Ahh. I just feel better thinking about Aug. 2. And more excited for that day than almost any other this year.
I don't mean to curb any excitement either. But darn it, they had better pull out the hair dye.
So I am going to post the Emmett guy too, even though BFB is my only confirmation (good work). But really he can't be anything but Emmett.
And I read a rumor (non-Lex, they don't deal with rumors) that Laurent might be African American. I am all for mulit-culturism but I am not for messing up SM's characters. I really don't mind them looking different but it is so hard to not have the authors pure intent represented.
It's just a movie, its just a movie, its just a movie.
Oh and Dazzled, honey, I feel your pain. I think Robert will pull off a great Edward. But Edward isn't just great. He is compared to a model, a greek-statue, an angel, sigh. I never ever thought our Henry would get to play him, but I go through sad little meloncholy moments where I wish so much they could have found Edward to play in the movie.
I am still holding out for make-up, etc., to make him as breathtaking as possible. I mean even Jacob knew Edward was gorgeous.
Can anyone shed a little perspective for me on these issues? Thanks. I liked it better when I was giddy.

I also was surprised by Carlisle, and yes James is too cute. Someone suggested they switch the two. But ugly James up, and make Carlisle a little more flawless and they will be perfect. Peter for Carslisle does have a very distinctive look. And I like him paired with our Esme. So its all good.
Sorry this post is so sloppy. It's the best I can do. Just wanted to say again that the Emmett actor has never been officially listed on the Lexicon as Emmett. I think everyone is just assuming at this point. I will confirm when I get the word.
I have also heard that Laurent is African American - one site says that is confirmed - they just can't confirm his identity (I believe they have a member who has some inside connections). There also has been an ad place for an African American photo double that fits the description. So I believe that. And the book does say that Laurent has darker skin doesn't it?
Billy Burke has confirmed a connection to the movie, but not what it is - people are speculating that he might be Charlie, but, again, that is pure speculation.
My excitement isn't so much about the movie, as it is about the fact that we have a whole year of Twilight/SM-related things to keep us going. Between The Host, Eclipse special edition, BD and the movie, we have a lot of fun stuff coming up. And I expect that the movie will be very superficial, but it is still Twilight.
Back to Rob Pattinson playing Edward... He is an attractive guy, but he's just not my idea of what Edward should look like ("boo hoo" I cry, sobbing in despair, once again). He must be a really talented, sensitive, convincing actor - because I can't beleive they picked him for his looks. Anyway, I know Edward's perfection goes much deeper than a gorgeous face. And it's very cool that Rob has read all 3 books, he must be a sensitive guy!
I hope I don't sound too negative, I'll try to be more positive in my future comments (as I'm now sobbing myself to sleep at my perceived loss of a perfect screen Edward - Oh, the cruelty of life - just kidding...)

I don't think you are even remotely negative. Have you ever read a few of my more dramatic posts? Almost anything we say on here can be taken light-heartedly since it is fiction we are talking about. So just be honest. And after-all you might find someone else feeling your pain. Like I have with the Edward issue.
Okay everyone, it is official about Emmett. The Lexicon people have confirmed. Again many of these actors are older than the pictures being portrayed. I think he really looks the part. Woo-hoo. Cheering is back!
Another little trivia fact I learned today. Apparently, according to his fansite, Henry Cavill was offered the part of Carlisle and he turned it down.
Well if it is true, I am relieved. That would really mess up the Henry's-two-pictures-look-like-Edward-and-he-has-to-be-frozen-in-time image in my head.
Some of you may be dissapointed but I'm not.
This is stooping pretty low in movie trivia, which I don't want to do, but since it was Henry trivia I caved.

The thing that irks me the most is that Henry Cavill is only 3 yrs older than Rob Pattinson. Seriously, he could have pulled off Edward, even if he's obviously older than 17 (really he's almost a century old)!

Clarification from the Lexicon on the Henry thing. He was offered a script to read (not an official part apparently) but his work on "The Tudors" is too busy to consider Twilight.

Somewhere on the blog are Movie Posters created by fans and there are some pretty good pictures of Robert on there. It will be okay, not perfect but great. It has to be. I thought there were some sweet shots of him in those videos I posted.

I feel your total pain about Edward. Everything you guys said is like you took the words right out of my mouth. Why couldn't they find the Edward in my head?!
I had some mixed feelings about what I read about Henry, but it definitely would've made things confusing for us, and our blog. I love our golden eyed Henry/Edward we have there.
As far as Laurent, in Twilight it does say he has "olive-toned" skin and "glossy black" hair, but come on, I don't think it's possible for and African American to play a vampire. I believe in a Q & A somewhere a question like that was asked and SM said that if an African American were bitten, their skin would lighten very much because that's just what happens when one is changed into a vampire. So sure, possibly Laurent was at one time of that ethnicity, but he wouldn't look that way anymore. They'd really have to lighten this guy up to play the part. I'm ALL for multi racial combinations in movies, but they've got to stick to some stuff. That wouldn't even be right. If the movie people are worried about that, they most definitely should mix in people of different races as extras or smaller parts of the books. But seriously, we're in Forks, WA here. And I'm about the most non prejudice person that I know, but does anyone agree with me here? He should be olive toned but, SM even said that's still pretty light for a vampire.

Again, all that he has confirmed is that he has been negotiating with the casting reps for Twilight, and could possibly start working later in February.
I looked up his pictures and I think he would work great for the part! I hope this all becomes fact. It's exciting to know we are yet to find out who will be Charlie and Jacob, and we can't forget Angela and Ben!
