If I can get tickets to Stephenie Meyer's Seattle signing, then I am on my way there for a Birthday trip. The signing is August 12, my B-day is close to that, so my hubby really can't say no. So anyone interested, heads up. The signing tickets go on sale Saturday morning.

Are you serious? What dates would you go up exactly? Would you go the weekend before the signing, or would you stay after the signing and go to Forks after? Let me know. We just went under contract on our house (FINALLY!), so the possibility is very real. However, I do have a wedding on the weekend of the 8th, or rather the wedding is on the 8th, so I couldn't go until the morning of the 9th. You know how I have been bugging everyone about really wanting to go. Let me know now, so that I can try and get tickets as well.
If I fly I don't think I would go until that Tues. they 12th. If I drive, I think we would leave Sunday the 10th. I really can't get those details worked out this fast, but that is the general idea.
I will let you know what details I find out asap.
Yes, I definitely remember you have been bugging everyone about going. It just hit me that the signing, plus Forks, would be the most fabulous way to celebrate the moment Twilight came into my life. I just HAVE to do it.
And what do you mean your birthday is close to that! It's the day after! Just think, you would be spending your birthday in Forks, perhaps eating at Bella Italia in Port Angeles. (Right? Signing on Tuesday the 12th? First thing to be done).
Oh man, so fun. Girls trips are fun no matter what, but this one has a HUGE added bonus with it!
Well I didn't want to be that obvious. I know exactly what day my Birthday is. Bella and Edwards wedding day.
I was assuming signing first but I didn't think about going the weekend before. That might be better for a lot of people. We could leave Friday and come back on Tuesday night maybe. Anyway the first thing is tickets on Saturday. I will post how to get them. If we have to buy them to sit together, I will have to think about that. I love TOGETHERNESS, obviously, but I don't like being the travel agent. It gets sticky with collecting funds and all that. I don't think we gave poor Jillike our Host money for MONTHS. Sorry friend. We just all get busy you know. Anyway, I will have more details today.
I just got back from Forks!!! It was SO much fun! I will share my story later.... and I can help you with the do's and don'ts! Like, DON'T stay in "Forks Motel".

Cyndee you are awesome. I was going to email you this morning anyway. But I will let you get some work done first. Yay is right! Maybe we need to have a TW get together just to hear travel stories. It's easier in person.
I am game for a get together! We took over 600 pictures of the whole thing... not just of Forks though, it is too small for 600 pictures!

OH, we had lunch at the Viewpoint Inn, seriously the best burger I have EVER had! It was totally gourmet and totally awesome!!

Okay, so how much are the tickets to the thing in Seattle going to run? And my only snag is that I will be at a wedding on Friday, until late I imagine since it is at the house I am living in currently. So I would do better to fly out early Sat. Or even really late on Fri, but I hate to do that. And please don't make me fly by myself and meet you somewhere, I don't do well traveling alone. Too scary. Imature, I know.
As for Cyndee going to Fork, how awesome. So between you and Joy, we should be all set and not get list while trying to find stuff. Let me know what you plan, MaryAnn,and I will see what I can do.
I'm probably not going to be able to join you in Forks for those days because I will be out of town Aug 13-16 for Girls camp, which I have already committed to. I would feel too guilty being gone for both trips so close to one another. But I have some buddy passes on JetBlue you can use if you want. It can be more difficult to travel standy without the crew member though.
Actually Dazz that seems perfect to me. Just be gone 6 days instead of 3 you know.
I'm really not an insensitive wife and mother. I just get really excited about my plans. Actually my DH is being very supporive about the plan so whew. Of course I'm not going to girls camp the day I get home either.

NYC has a presale for 150 tickets and they sold out in minutes. Waaaah.

Wow, do we know how many they are selling for the Seattle show? Really, 150 aren't that many if you think about it. Will they presale some tickets for all the shows? I guess you probably don't know that.

The presale was just for 150 the rest of the tickets go on sale sat. for New York too.
Did we ever find out how many seats are at that place in Seattle? Would they fill the whole place or just part of it? I wonder if it will be like 2000 or 4000 or way less or way more, hmmmm.
I guess if they were going to presale anymore tickets for any of the venues, it'd have to be tomorrow. I'm sure that's not going to happen anyway.
I am truly serious. However, my husband has told me no. We had a rather heated discussion yesterday, because I think since our house is under contract, I will have the money by August. But I tend to jump the gun, and he has told me no. I cannot even tell you how upset I am. I keep thinking I will buy a ticket tomorrow, and I can always sell it if I can't go. But I haven't figured it out. The crappy thing is that if I don't buy the ticket tomorrow, then I won't have the chance. And I missed her when she was here in SL. Sorry about that.
Hey girlfriend. This is one of my biggest fears. That husbands are going to start resenting me for feeding their wives unhealthy addictions or tempting them to leave family behind to purue selfish whims.
Of course that is not my intention AT ALL! I am in such a different boat I am sorry to make it hard for anyone. I am paid to exercise and we don't use that money for family expenses so it is really mine to spend. It adds up VERY slowly, but by August I think I can have 400 dollars. If it was a family budget thing it might not be quite such a spontaneous decision. So really I hope I don't cause trouble for you or anyone else.
It is just such a special anniversary for me, with Twilight, I am willing to go elaborate but all the stars just lined up for me (I might even be able to use skymiles). Anyway AWB why don't you email me personally. Love ya.
Since you are talking money.... let me share a little of what I spent.
Gas there is more than here, it was like $4.40/gal. If you fly into Seattle, you can take a Ferry with a car from there to Bainbridge for $15, that includes the car and passengers, which will save you time and money from having to drive the long way. In Port Angeles, Bella Italia is EXPENSIVE. It was closed when we were there, but I looked at the menu, it is like $18 for a meal. We drove down the street and ate at a place called Gordys Pizza, It was $11 and delicious! I had pasta. AND it was more like what I pictured where Edward took Bella. Forks is TINY, they don't have much in the way of TW merchandise to buy, but if you stop in at the Forks Chamber of Commerse, you can get a TW packet, it has some fun stuff in it including a bookmark, magnet and sand from La Push (don't take and from the actual beach, or you could be making another trip to La Push to go to court!)OH...They have cute T-shirts that say Love Bites at Forks Outfitters for $12.99!
So, there were 3 of us to split costs. We took my friends car, so that was free except for gas. I think I spent around $350 not including food or souvenirs. I spent more than I needed to on food etc... but I figured that this was my one GEEK adventure,and I don't have a husband to worry about.... so I didn't pay attenting to the $ part.
