The Best for Last

So this is the last day of February, and a special leap day at that. So I have been saving this for a special occasion and February 29th is good enough for me.

I have a fan-fiction I think you might all enjoy. I have only ever read about a dozen Twilight fan-fiction and liked very few of them. This is probably the only one I would ever really recommend. I really enjoyed it because it is very short, sounds almost like Stephenie and is written from Edward's perspective. It is also most definitely a PG-13, so please don't be shocked. I was going to edit it a little to make it PG and to take out a couple of phrases that don't quite seem right, but it was to much work. Really it is tasteful and beautiful and well, okay, kind of steamy. But it is also sweet and joyful and well, just read it and you will see.

I hope you love it as much as I did. It just makes me long for Midnight Sun even with the promise of Breaking Dawn less than 154 days away.
This is written as Edward describing the meadow scene at the end of Eclipse:

Woops make that 153 days. And this is great to read once by itself, then re-read Eclipse, then read them side by side.

I am so happy that MA posted this one, because it's definitely one of my favorite (if not my favorite) fanfics. Very well written and realistic. (I love using that word when talking about Twilight). So definitely take a minute to read this one, I think you'll enjoy it and it's really not too long.
It does make me long for MS as well, I love anything in Edward's perspective! I have a few favorite parts of this one, but I won't spoil anything yet, I'll give others a chance to read and then share more. I really love it! I've read it and then read Bella's version, but I haven't done it side by side yet, that'll have to be next.
Of course I have to add what an amazing picture that is!!! It looks so real. And does that go right along with the meadow scene or what? Perfect!

One more thing I forgot to mention is that when reading this, it intensifies for me how hard it truly was for Bella to resist Edward in that final scene. Of course we know it was and can see it through her eyes, but to read about how the experience might have been through Edward's eyes, makes me see another side to her strength.

Wow! What a great fanfic. I liked this one better than those other two we recently read (the wedding & the change). Still, I'm with RMV & TM, when is MS coming?! I'm sad to think it won't be for quite awhile. I agree that Edward's perspective gives more insight into their relationship and adds to Bella's struggle in the whole thing.

I think the fact that no one is making up what happens, is the key to enjoying this. Of course we don't really know what Edward is thinking or feeling, but it sounds like how you might imagine it.

When amateurs try to write the future, or missing parts, it is much harder to sound authentic.

That is just my take, but I think that is why this one is so enjoyable for me. It could almost be real.

(And it is short. I think you would even like it BFB. It doesn't mess with your mind. And less substance with which to sound foreign.)

And after you read this, and then review this chapter in Eclipse, and then read it side by side, then go and listen to the song I posted: "Chasing Cars". To me this song embodies how Edward and Bella must be feeling at that time. The last time we see them. The words are more symbolic than literal, but the symoblism is just... I can't think of a word yet. But I will.

I think you're right MA, the fact that this has already happened, and isn't made up completely makes a difference. Of course the author did a good job too. I'll have to listen to that song again and think about those things.
I'm really glad you liked it too Ruth.
Give in...the rest of you!

Alright, I gave in. Of course the only reason is that my other TW-aholics love it too. I have to admit that I never have searched or read fanfiction...so I don't really know what others are like. But this one really almost sounded like MS - so of course, I enjoyed it. And, reading it side by side is awesome!!

I'm so glad you read it E, and like it too!

I did read this, and I thought I commented, but I must have clicked off before I posted or something because, obviously, it isn't here. (I decided that since this isn't future speculation, as you have all mentioned, and MS isn't going to cover this part of the story, that I would allow myself to read it

And I did really like this piece. It was done very well (Isn't the author one of the Lexicon moderators? If so, she probably has done LOTS of homework).

I liked seeing the transition Edward goes through in his thinking. I mean, we knew it took place before, but it was great to see the struggle and things that led to the transition from Edward's point of view. To tell the truth, I really relate to Edward. I think that I was very Edward-y growing up & that even though I usually take on different roles within my marriage (as the fun & calming one) I am still naturally very Edwardy.

Thanks for sharing!

Oh I'm glad you all loved it.

I really relate to Edward too. For many reasons.
Summary with out my usual essay:
I really relate to Edwardy ways.

Very amazing, awesome, cool person to be like! (Even if he is fictional)

Wow - That was better than a hot fudge sundae!! I seemed so realistic that I almost felt like it was what I had already read in Eclipse - very parallel (does that make sense?) Aaahhh, if only Edward & Bella could be real..... It's a good thing I have a vivid imagination!

Hot fudge Sunday? I can think of many things that fanfiction is better than. And I was gazing at that picture again today. So stirring, in a good way, not a "you-know-what" way. This is a great place to return too when you need a little Twilight.

Oh and yes, BFB, Cocoa is big-time on the Lexicon. The other best ever fan-fiction you shouldn't read (very long and very confusing) is Alphie's, Lion and the Lamb.

Sorry you are sick Marti. Did you read some Twilight to help you feel better?

I really liked this fanfic. I actually liked Lion and the Lamb, although you are right MA, it is long, and it took me a couple of sessions of reading to get through it. But that made me long for BD so much more, to anticipate what is going to happen, and the order of everything. I just can't wait. Because I can't make it to the TA meetings, you need to share any theories that are discussed. I miss those discussions. I want to brainstorm with you guys. Would anyone be up for a Friday night meeting? I might even be able to arrange a place, but we would have to have my kids with me. Let me know if that might work with anyone.
