Well, I thought we'd hear something about Charlie next, or the results of the casting call for Jacob.
Have to say that James is a little better looking than the books describe him. But Jessica looks right on.
How fun is this?..I hope this Cam guy can play a great villian...don't really know who he is!
I am excited, now that Joseph liked the action in TW - he will want to go to the movie with me (it will be my second time though - right TA girls?) Actually, it might me the first time that I actually go to a movie first without him - he's famous for having "guy's movie afternoons"!
The Lexicon has been listing about one actor per day. All small characters like this. Fun yes, but agonizing. Who are the Cullens?
I agree James is too good looking. It drives me crazy that Eric is Asian, Ben Chenney is supposed to be. Will Jessica have curly hair?
Oh well.
And we would like to keep all of the small characters in one place so that the blog doesn't fill up with casting news. So we will add other supporting roles to this post.
Erin you can just count on Joseph being your second, or third time if the movie turns out good. I waffle between ecstatic and disheartened with any movie news. But time flies so before you know it, we will know first hand.
Yep it's true! Almost every day when I check the Lex there's something new about the movie. In fact, just today they cast Mike Newton with a guy named Michael Welch. He'll work.
I was going to do a similar post in a few days, because I figure we'd continue getting all these new rolls announced. They are supposedly starting the shooting this week. Wow.
So tell me, where in the CRAP is any news about important people, like Alice, Carlisle, Charlie, even Angela is better than some of these! Come on people!! Throw us a freakin' bone here.
We'll have to change the avatar on the post as new ones are added if we can, I would bet there'll be one with "Mike Newton's" picture next to the others by tomorrow??
So will Mike have spiky hair and will Bella have brown contacts? I better not get too deep into those thoughts tonight, it's late.
Anyway and yes Erin! Of course Joseph (and my husband for that matter) will have to see it with his lovely spouse at least the 2nd time around!
I wonder if they'll have a midnight showing.
Now just take it easy RWV. Get some sleep and then you will be able to handle these silly insignificant casting roles much better. Maybe they are so great the producers are just dragging it out. Remember we don't care THAT much about the movie. As long as they don't completely murder it, we will be okay. No matter what it will not even come close to our vision. It will not be a LOTR. I wish. Half the time I am in mourning that we won't get to see the real Edward and Bella. It will be okay.
Chicken bones do make us choke. Here's to someting meatier. Maybe tomorrow.
Ok, I do feel a little better this morning. A little. Still no new news, but the day is fresh.
I also forgot to mention, that for now, the release date for the movie is set for December 12th. Awesome. They say that isn't set in stone, but that it would probably only change to a difference of 1-2 weeks. So it's safe to say we can plan on seeing it around the holidays this year.
I know it'll be nothing like LOTR, (what could be?) but I hope they try hard with it. They tried hard with HP, and these books are right up there. I'm trying to not care that much about it, but it's so exciting I can't help myself.
Here's to the real Bella and Edward, only in our heads...
I think that is a good comparison, Harry Potter movies. They picked great characters, but the movies lacked so much detail and development. But, we liked them. A lot. That is my prediction of Twilight. I guess the fact that they are going to create a blockbuster wont make the movie any better. Peter Jackson should have directed it. Oh well.
It will be so VERY EXCITING!!!
I can't wait until we get little sneak peeks at scenes or trailers. Oh Man!
Good Morning Girls- I am glad that James is good Looking- he is suppose to be, he is a vampire- I think the casting so far has been good, except for Eric, They won't ever be perfect and since they are taking so much time- I hope that means they are really trying to find the right people to play the other important roles. My biggest hope is that they can create the magic and struggle between Edward and Bella- Have a great day!
I kind of figured that they were starting by casting the characters who are in a lot of the daily scenes - so they can start shooting those - which gives them more time to cast the Cullens, Charlie, Jacob, etc.
I thought Eric was weird at first, but then I thought, "Well, he is the greasy haired geek" (and Asian geek is a common stereotype), or maybe they are combining roles for simplicity's sake.

That really is my biggest hope as well. That these 2 actors can somehow capture their magic, and that they'll have onscreen chemistry (which they so-called do). I will definitely give both of them a chance at their acting abilities, with fingers crossed!
And true, BFB, we might as well deal with who they cast. He is dark haired, and they can make him greasy. I hope they aren't combining roles though. I like Ben. Remember, Mike Newton has to hold Ben back by the shoulder in the first of Eclipse when Jacob comes to the school, and it seems he and Edward are nearly going to brawl. What a loyal friend to stand behind his friend. But if he only knew...

Yes but for a vampire James isn't supposed to be as good looking as the Cullens. They were all beautiful people before they were changed. Hollywood can do anything though can't they? That James guy might look just ordinary compared to the Cullens. At least he better!
It will be fun to hear tid-bits of movie gossip. What are they filming, etc.
As I went and looked at more pictures of these 'high schoolers' it really hit me once again, that this is a high school book - the movie is really going to put it into perspective for me more than reading the books. I never picture them this young when I read, oh well!

Erin, I have the same problem - I keep thinking of the characters (many of them) as older than high school.
My guess for the character this newest actor will play - if he's not a vampire, I would guess Tyler. But, I think he is a vampire.
