So even the picture here is a quote - does anyone not know where the line above comes from?
So I have even more, new, funny rules. Read the comments faithfully before you guess:
Quote #1:
"I was gasping at the fresh air like I'd been suffocated"
Quote #2:
"He looked down, his lashes casting long shadows across his cheekbones. . ."
Quote #3. . ."There was only one voice I wanted to hear; anything else would be a disappointment."
And a bonus (silly aren't we?)
"I have foreseen. . . ,"

So it will be an interesting day when we run out of quotes. Being on the guessing end of things last week, made me want to try some more changes here.
For the general public:
1.One guess, on one quote, per day.
2. No peeking in your book until after you guess, and that is only to check your guess, not to look for another one.
3. The bonus is just for fun, it should be easy. Let us know whether or not you know the bonus but we wont reveal the actual source until later in the week. Sound good?
New Rules for the quotaholics:
(this would be me, BFB, RWV, and E)
You get one quote to guess on. You are each assigned a quote this week. Since we are really the only ones guessing these, which is fine, don't get me wrong, I want everyone to be happy all the time. Now this is not possible in real life, but hopefully in blog-life. Lets just try it this week okay?
So RWV - you get quote #1. No one else can guess it, amongst the 3 of you. We can say if we know it and give her hints if she asks for them. Still just one guess per day.
#2 is for BFB
#3 (coming as soon as I find where the quote I wanted to use went) is for E.
If this turns out fun, then next week I will assign one of you to pick the 3 quotes. Erin be thinking about it. I think it is your turn.
I'm excited for this. I can't wait to see if it works.
Sounds so fun!!! I checked the blog probably 10 times yesterday just to see if there were new quotes...so sadly I am a quotaholic! Oh, and I know the bonus - very fun!!
Crap, I don't think I have a narrowed down enough guess for tonight...a few spots have come to mind, but I am really tired, and I know that if I try and stay up and decide on a guess, I'll really regret it tomorrow morning when my kids get up. So, sadly I will have to wait til tomorrow!
So I can always tell, by the hour, when Joseph is gone. At least I think I can. Get some rest. Good night.
Yes, this will be a fun way to try it! E, don't be sad to be a quotaholic, it's a good and fun thing to be.
I know the bonus as well, but I had to think of the exact spot for a bit. I love that part!
Truly I must say the one you picked for me is a toughy. I only slightly even remember that line. I will think hard, but I'll give a guess for fun...Is it after they finally get out of the building in Volterra and are trying to get away as quickly as possible?
Ok, so after a short night of rest (Joseph caught an early flight, and got in late last night, so of course he's still sleeping - ha) I have decided what my first guess is...I actually have a good feeling about it - but you never know. I think that it is in TW after Port Angeles...she gets home and the phone rings - she of course wishes it was Edward, but it turns out to be Jessica?
Ooooh, good guess E. I wouldn't have had any guesses on that one.
As for mine - this one of those where there is something similar in a million places.
So here is my first guess - early in Eclipse, Alice has a vision, Edward takes Bella home, she is checking her email, and he is trying to convince her to fly to Florida to visit Renee for the weekend. He does an uncharacteristic pouty thing, and then he says "Please..." and the quote is right about there.
And I know the bonus.
Hi girls:
#1 - no
#2 - no
#3 - no
Sorry. But all good guesses.
I was going to slip in some comments but I'm afraid anything I say could be a hint and I will wait until tomorrow for that.
And everyone is welcome to guess.
Tell me at least if you know the bonus.
And even though I'm the one that picks the pictures: I just love this one. Shows the funny, lighter side to our couple, that seldom gets to come out.
Yes - I like this picture.
It would be a great T-shirt because only the truly imprinted Twilight fans would get it.
I know, I know. It was sad that I knew I was wrong 5 minutes after guessing - clear this morning. So, it's so long until I can guess again...Oh well!!
I haven't done a guess for today yet, but I'm totally coming up blank. While I swept my floors this afternoon, it's all I thought about. This is a toughy. I kind of cheated and asked my husband if he had any ideas, but who am I kidding, if I don't know after all my research, he's not going to!
Well...I can't just not try, but I'm clueless really. I guess I'll just throw something out there. How about at the end of NM, when they're running to the Cullen house for the vote...and she's finally feeling whole again and back to normal with Edward.
I know, but I had to say something.
Not quite ready for a hint yet, I think.
Ok, I'm not quite ready to guess again. I am still hung up on thinking it is at a telephone part, so I need to sift through the phone call parts in my head...I might be way off though, so no laughing - this is good that I'm only trying to get one!!
Never laughing at guesses. Never!
Don't forget to have Joseph bring his computer home so that you can listen to the Twilight Music.
Hello all! Great guesses, even though it looks like they are wrong. I really have no idea where any of them are. In fact, I don't even know the bonus. Also, I would totally buy that shirt with this picture. Love it!
Anyway, I'll take a shot in the dark & make a guess this week. My guess if for Quote #1: Is this where Bella just ran out of the forest after seeing the werewolves chase away Laurent? (I really have no idea, just thought it'd be fun to play again.)
Well, I think there is an eyelash part in one of the scenes where they talk about marriage in Eclipse.
That's probably too obvious, but since I haven't had any "Eureka" moments today, I will guess that it is in the scene where they talk about why Edward doesn't want Bella to become a vampire & why she doesn't want to marry him.
Alright - my next guess, is at the beginning of Eclipse when Bella is still kind of grounded and given only certain hours to see Edward. I can't think of a specific chapter, but toward the beginning when they are still 'freshly' back together!??
Ok, I'm just at a loss. It really is both frustrating but great too! I'll be able to rediscover a lot when I read them again.
But since I'm so frustrated too, I think I may have to give in a ask for a tiny hint. I have racked my brain, and even tried to think of and extras or outtakes but ???
I'm going to give a silly guess anyway. How about after Bella jumps from the cliff, Jacob saves her and she comes back to semi-consciousness. I know, too obvious, but I had to guess something.
So, I'm ready, really there's only a few days left to guess, so I better get serious and down to it now.
Nice guess though Ruth, really, I didn't even think of that one.
First, Ruth, very, very, good guess. Can you believe I actually sit and think of other places that the quote might seem to be? Go ahead and shake your heads. Anyway, I never thought of that one. Very good. But wrong.
Next, BFB, well I am a little disappointed at your lack of enthusiams for your quote. (very J/K of course, but you don't seem your usual quote verocious self this week. Sorry if I paired you with a quote you couldn't be passionate about.) Even though we hear so much about his face, I can only think on one or two other references to Edward's eyelashes. I think I have a soft spot for eyelashes (something I noticed on my own handsome man). So this was not only a very tender scene but amazingly descriptive. So the fact that you guessed it should be a great feat! So I say yeah! He is so vulnerable in the moment you described. Do you know where the other quotes are? Of course you can't give them away, but it would be fun to know if you know them.
Erin you are doing a great job whittling it down. All of your answers have been very plausible just not correct. It is a little tricky. Are you ready for a hint, or open book privileges?
And here is your hint RWV - and condolences for getting the hardest quote this time around.
It is not Bella speaking.
That is all I will say for now. Even if you figure out the correct general place (which book/out-take) see if you can narrow down the circumstance. Just try for fun.
Let me know before you go looking things up okay?
So obviously it's Alice talking in the bonus quote. But I'm still not sure where it is or what she's saying.
TM, with that hint for quote #1, I knew exactly where to find it. Thanks! I actually looked it up to check myself. So yay! I found it! But I'll let RMV take a guess.
Ok, I'm surprised, and a little confused still. No wonder I could hardly think of any place that Bella says that!
So I'm going to give a guess on the first thing that comes to mind.
How about in MS, after Edward leaves the classroom the first time he almost kills Bella. And he's away from her scent finally?
Let me know...
So I didn't mean to completely confuse you. I never said it was Bella saying that.
You are close enough. The quote is specifically from MS when he has left the office, after trying to switch classes. He doesn't breathe again until he gets to the car. Then he starts gasping for fresh air to clear the scent.
Really I didn't mean for that to be tortuous.
And excellent job Ruth.
Would somebody who knows the bonus please reveal it for Ruth now.
Thanks for playing everyone. Oh wait we still have Erin's quote everyone. Hurry. Quotes change on Tuesday, the regular schedule. Let us know what you need Erin.
Ok, so you better tell me - am I even close in thinking it's at a telephone part? Now that you brought up outtakes...maybe it's the extra from NM, when we get the hear the conversation between Edward and Rosalie...maybe it's Edward who is speaking! Well, probably way off, but let me know!
I thought it might be either one of those places in MS.
I know it could be anyone saying that, I just totally assumed it was Bella. And you know what they say about people that assume things...
Anyway, very good. Funny how once you said it wasn't Bella I instantly thought of Edward. I also am going to read that first chapter of MS again. I can't believe how little I remember of that!
Thanks and good luck Erin. I have no idea on yours, I did come across BFB's the night it was posted, but still impressive how quickly you got it.
So, I guess I missed it - BFB got it, right? Was it the scene on the couch? aNyway, I'll go back and read what I missed...I need a fresh read of MS as well!
E - you are actually doing really well. Because you are correct, it is a telephone part. And no it isn't in an out-take. But it is tricky. Do you want any more hints?
Ok, I'll keep trying to rack my brain about the telephone parts. I might need another hint later today! I really thought I was maybe right about the Edward thing - but I'll get back to ya!
I didn't mean to sound unexcited; I really was just doubting that I had it. It was the looking down that finally made me guess this scene. You are right, TM, it is unusual to see Edward so unsure of himself & it does make us like him even more (if that is possible).
I'll have to go look for the other eyelash parts - but I think they are different in that he is looking through them.
Oh, and I haven't figured out the other quotes yet. Your clues have me thinking.
And RWV posted somewhere else about asking her husband about the quote once. I must admit that I tried that too a few weeks ago, but had the same realization: when it comes to quotes, they are not any help (though we love them). Chris actually made some snort/grunt sound and said "Like I remember that (must have been something mushy).
Erin I am not sure what you mean about the "Edward thing". Explain.
And BFB I am still curious to know if you knew where RMV's or E's quotes were/are?
I definitely like finding quotes to post more than guessing them.
You are all great sports.
Funny we just posted at the same time. I hope the thinking is a positive experience?
Yes, thinking is a positive thing. I was actually thinking about the other quotes on my drive home yesterday. Didn't get any closer, but it made for some nice reliving of Twilight scenes in my mind.
I did find another eyelash part in Twilight just now. In the lunchroom when they are eating together for the first time. Edward is trying to get Bella to tell him her "theory" about what he is.
"He looked down, and then glanced up at me through his long black lashes, his ocher eyes scorching.
'Please?' he breathed, leaning toward me.
I blinked, my mind going blank. Holy crow, how did he do that?
'Er, what?' I asked, dazed."
Had to share, because it just reminded me how fun their early interactions in Twilight are - when they are both trying not to like each other. They really are quite funny.
Alright, I have been trying to narrow things down a bit...here is my thinking - TW: I already guessed once about the phone call with Jessica, and I can't really think of another call - things happen so quick, there is just a few days between PA and the meadow, and the ball game, and then the hunt - wait, ok, there is one that I just thought of, so before I go on with my narrowing down - I'll take a guess...MA you better let me know soon so I can maybe have one more before new quotes...oh, I just remembered I just get one. Well, ok - let me think...
Alright, I guess I'll just do it - my final guess (probably) is when Bella is in the hotel in Pheonix with Jasper and Alice...there are a few times when the phone rings and Alice hands her the phone. So, my guess is probably the first time it rings(and I think it ends up being Edward - so maybe that's not it), but she thinks this before she says hello? The next time the phone is for her, I think she just assumes it's her mom (then it's freaky James), because she had just left the message at her mom's house.
Oh, brother, I am a retard...no idea if that is right. But that is just what came to me, so here goes nothing!!
Thank you, thank you BFB, that is one eye-lash moment I didn't remember. And yes their beginning romance is like none other! Can't wait to read it again, together!
Now Erin calm down. This is the last day to guess so rules are off. Okay it is a phone thing, she of course if referring to wanting to hear Edward's voice, which she doesn't, and, it IS in Twilight. Do you want any other hint or you can have open book it you would like.
And I am sorry but this one is the tiniest bit confusing. I think your last guess was genious. It so easily could have been there. She wanted so much to hear from him during that time.
Don't beat your head against anything hard, okay?
Alright, I really can't believe that I am missing this - I guess the only other lame guess that I have (too general - I can't put my finger on it) There must be another phone call - I think from Jessica - sometime during the time between all the fun 'flirty' days and the baseball game. that is the best that i can do...I just don't know exactly where it would be ( I really should have the timeline memorized, right?)- maybe it's even after the meadow...oh I didn't think of that. Well, I'm off to sneak a peak now - sorry, that wasn't really a guess, but it was the best i could do after a long week. I really thought I was better than this!!
No need to check, kiddo. You got it! It was hard huh?
Would someone like to post the bonus for Ruth?
Sure, I'll post the bonus for Ruth.
As you knew, it is coming from Alice. This takes place in Eclipse, about a week or so before graduation. I love to see the playful side of Edward here, so I'll share a bit with you...
Alice says that line (the bonus quote)
"I have foreseen..." in an ominous voice.
Edward threw an elbow toward her ribs, which she neatly dodged.
"Fine," she grumbled. "Edward is making me do this. But I did foresee that you would be more difficult if I suprised you."
"In English?" I requested
"Don't be a baby about this. No tantrums."
"Now I'm scared."
"So you're - I mean we're - having a graduation party...Nothing to freak out over. But I saw that you would freak out if I tried to make it a surprise party" - she danced out of the way as Edward reached over to muss her hair...
I sighed heavily. "Is there any point in arguing?"
"None at all."
"Okay, Alice. I'll be there. And I'll hate every minute of it. Promise."
"That's the spirit! By the way I love my gift!...."
"Amazing" Edward muttered. "How can someone so tiny by so annoying?"
Alice laughed. "It's a talent."
So of course I left some stuff out in the middle of the whole conversation, but I'm sure you get the gyst of it. Very cute conversation! Then of course this leads into the wonderful talk that Bella and Edward have about their future including all their insecurities. Love that whole chapter, "Time"...
By the way, that was kind of tricky, I'm impressed you got that phone call E. I had almost forgot that she called again to gush about her dance with Mike, until it was said.
Nice job on these quotes!
Thanks RMV. That moment reminds me of why I like Alice so much. She's such a loveable person/vampire: funny, honest, and truly has Bella's best interest in mind at all times. Sounds like qualities of a true friend. No wonder we all love her.
Well, I technically didn't really get my quote...not knowing enough details. I went and found the spot, and i had really forgotten exactly where it was too - right before Edward picks her up for baseball!! That was so fun.
Oh, you got it, give yourself the credit. At least you remembered there was another phone call somewhere in that time frame. I'll give you the shout out.
I have to just say that it made me smile to read "person/vampire", love it Ruth.
You deserve credit for actually finding it, E. I remembered that there was a second phone call, but still couldn't find it in the book when I pulled it out to look yesterday.
Here's a refresher of the scene with quote #3:
The scene: Bella and Edward have just spent about 32 hours together, minus the time Edward went home to change during that first night in her bedroom, at least the first night that she is aware that he is there. Billy and Jacob are at the Swan home when Edward brings Bella home to change for baseball and to introduce her new boyfriend to Charlie. Of course Edward doesn't stay, although up until they saw the Blacks, Bella was sure he would be staying with her.
So we pick up after the Blacks leave and Bella is trying to pick out something to wear to a game of baseball with her Vampire boyfriend and his family.
"The phone rang and I sprinted downstairs to get it. There was only one voice I wanted to hear; anything else would be a disappointment. But I knew if he (he is in italics) wanted to talk to me, he'd probably just materialize in my room."
Great part!!I sure got sucked in again (in a good way, of course) last night when I went to find that part...I had to make myself shut it - it really has a way of drawing you in, and not letting go!! Like so many have said, TW just has so many awesome 'new relationship' parts that you just can't help reading over and over!!
Okay so are you die-hards ready for more quotes? Of course I was usually put them up on Tuesday but I don't want to overwhelm you guys. So let me know.
Yep, I'm ready. I've already checked today to see if there's any new ones. It's teaching me some self control I think.
Do you want me to take a turn again?
Oh no, I've got them. I will let you gals take a turn, but I like this side of the game better actually. I will post them soon!
I was surprised that they weren't up when I checked after spinning, figuring that I missed them last night. So I am patiently waiting. (I can be patient. If I have to. I guess).
And I happened to notice that Jasper isn't on the new poll for the Cullens. Was this on purpose? I know we all found great entertainment at his expense due to that hair, but to leave him out entirely? Poor guy.
No I didn't forget. It's just that this blogger service is cheap-o. I will have to delete it and try again!
Yes, I'm definately ready - and sorry, maybe it was my turn to do quotes...I'm excited though!!
Ha ha. I figured you didn't forget; I just couldn't resist when I saw it was Jasper that was left off.
No we can't punish poor Jasper for his hair. It wasn't his fault.
And sorry ladies, I know this is torture, but I still haven't showered from working out. (can you believe it BFB?) So I must shower, and do somethinkg semi-productive (not that entertaining all of you isn't productive, but you know what I mean) and then quotes will be up. I love em'. How did you like having your own quote? Are you willing to try that again? I'm having a hard time choosing whose is whose.
Yes, I thought it was fun doing it that way. I'd love to try it again, but I'm up for whatever. Just give us our quotes in alphabetical order of our names or something...
Actually, I shouldn't admit this, but I can believe that you haven't showered because it takes me much longer some days. It's just so easy to get reading Twilight things and put it off when you are home without kiddos.
And I am up for assigned quotes again. It was fun that way.
Shower and sort-of fix hair: check
Look at blog again just because it is so stinkin fun, semi-clothed, mind you, but some of my clothes are in the office. Its a lack of closet space thing:
Check!
I give myself more guilt-free leeway on "blog-catch-up day" so I have no worries. I usually start by exercising, then eating breakfast while checking my email and the blog. How long I stay here after that, I cannot reveal.
I will need some lunch soon, so I will be back soon.
Sounds like me somedays (well, who am I kidding, most days) I am frantically trying to shower and get ready before I have to go and PICK UP annalyn from Kindergarten (3:15 - ahhhh) But oh well, what can you do. And I love that you give yourself your blog catch up day! I need to organize my time better that way. You are all so great!
