I apologize for posting this a day late.
Just a reminder, publish comment where the quote specifically comes from (no page # required, but which book and the situation). Trisha or I will let you know as soon as someone has guessed it correctly. Good Luck!
"He stood in the middle of the kitchen, the statue of Adonis again, staring abstractedly out the back windows. Then his eyes were back on me, and he smiled his heartbreaking smile"

I think this is maybe in NM really close to right before he leaves. Am I anywhere close?
No you are nowhere close. But I am glad it is not as easy as I thought it might be, (hee, hee). Jill we love ALL your comments! I hope this is just fun and not torture.
Ok is it in NM, the setting where Victoria and her coven are trying to get Bella, and I'm going to take a guess that its when Jacob is there to check things out for the werewolves and they take turns coming in the house and checking the outside, she's angry that Edward is watching her so closely yet at the same time she's enamored of his beauty when she sees him. Am I warm at all?
Sorry Jenn, that's not it, good guess though. I actually think the scene you're talking about is in Eclipse though. Not to be a know it all, but you are my sister at least :) You're very close though, you've got one thing right about it...
so..uh, which thing do i have right?augh I know you cant say, but one would be alot easier than the other to guess on...so i'm gonna just say is it in Eclipse and not NM? lol
Trisha (know it all) is right. The scene you are describing is in Eclipse but this quote is not from that scene. There are several kitchen scenes in Eclipse actually (coming from another Twilight know it all who is not your sister, sorry.).
But, its too early on to say which book. And actually I'm not sure which part Trish is referring to that is correct. Unless is it Bella admiring his beauty. That part is certainly right on, but not very helpful. Bella is always admiring his beauty. She can't help it of course.
I'm so dumb, the part you got right is in the quote itself! I was going to give you a hint that it does take place in her house and so you were right on that. But duh! It says right there "in the middle of the kitchen." In my defense, I'm going off 2 hours of sleep from last night.
Carry on...
Hello, hello - I have the quote! I'm so excited...kind of funny that it's made my day by 8:07 am. It's in Twilight (the only book I have right now...when I read the quote, I knew that the "Adonis" part sounded too familiar to me to be in the other two books)! It is the morning after the Meadow. Edward had stayed and then was still there in the morning. They went down to the kitchen to eat breakfast (human breakfast) Edward had just suggested that they go and meet his family. He had just reacted strangely when she asked him about Alice (if she had seen her coming). He then asked about her breakfast, and she teases how "it's no irritable grizzly..." And then she glances up and sees him...
There you go! I did it! Sorry everyone...maybe I should've waited for a few more guesses.
Sorry, I forgot to mention - it's pg. 317 in Twilight
Congratulations Erin!! I actually picked a Twilight quote just so you would have a chance to get it, so I am so happy for you. Of course when picking out the quote I did lots of wandering and reading through Twilight. I must confirm again that book AMAZES and DAZZLES me at every turn.
When are you getting your other books back?
