I'm working on another series of quotes, but here is one more from the last set, that I found today and could not leave out. So you will only have a day or two to guess it.
Theme - hairy moments:
"He pulled me close, burying his face in my hair."

I think this is in Eclipse before one of the times that Edward leaves Bella, right before she goes to meet Jacob - he kind of has a funny look on his face after, then when Jacob 'smells' her, Bella realizes why Edward had done this? One of Edward's 'secret' competitive things he does to Jacob!
You know I could swear he did just what you described, before dropping off Bella one time, but I can't find it.
So obviously it is not where I got the quote, but I would like to solve the mystery now.
I think there is something like that in Eclipse too, let us know if you find it.
This is so familiar! It's killing me, it's on the tip of my tongue/mind/whatever. I'll think a bit more I guess.
Love that, "hairy moments".
Ok, I really don't know, but I can't go to bed without guessing. So here goes:
How about the end of NM, on their way to "The Vote" when they stop outside the Cullen house and hug and have another little talk. Does he do that then?
Probably, but not the quote I am looking for.
Well gee, I kind of think this is in Eclipse. Can you give me that much for now?
Gosh, I really thought that E was right. I remember reading that part and thinking, "why is he putting his face in her hair?" And then later Jacob comments on how she "stinks" like the bloodsucker. I'm really tempted to go look that up now.
But since TM said she's wrong . . . my guess of the day is . . . ooh, wait. Maybe it's actually Jacob burying his face in her hair in this quote. To get back at Edward. But would you do that TM? I'm hesitant to say that's my guess because I don't think you'd actually include that with all those romantic "hairy moments."
So like many of these quotes, they seem like they could fit in, in many places. When I read Erin's guess I thought for sure SM had duplicated herself. But no.
So yes it is in Eclipse.
OF COURSE I would not highlight a stinky Jacob move like that, and actually Jacob isnt' that cunning.
So really everyone is very close, you just need to figure out which scene.
Run along now, but come back soon.
A rainy day.. . .great for cleaning, cathcing up on work, or blogging and reading the HOST.
Tough decisions. (yeah right!)
Is it the sexy-in-the-leather-jacket scene in the garage?
And I think the hair burying to make her stink before Jacob comes is when Jacob comes to sniff out Bella's visitor in the house. I think it is the same scene when Jacob cuts his hand.
So maybe a new quote rule will be that if you only stop by the blog every 4 or 5 days you can't guess correctly the first time. Sound good? J/K you silly girl. The quote and the scene you are referring too are one and the same.
As always I will elaborate:
Jacob is on his way to investigate the scent in Bella's room. Edward feels he needs to leave.
"He smiled and then a sly look came into his eye. He pulled me close, burying his face in my hair. I could feel his cool breath saturate the strands as he exhaled; it raised goose bumps on my neck."
"I'll be right back," he said , and then he laughed aloud as if I'd just told a good joke."
Get him Edward!
Oh and SM does use a similar phrase during a much more emotional scene. In the tunnel in Volterra
"Edward held me tightly. . . Now and then, I felt his face press into my hair."
Oh my . . .
We're already wearing plaid jackets & coveralls - now we can't guess quotes? That's going too far!
We might just have to get that 2nd rival gang going again.
Parole is over, sorry. You break the rules, suffer the consequences kiddo.
Who would be in whose gang anyway?
Well great...all that brain racking for nothing, well not nothing. I never mind thinking through lovely scenes from Twilight. That's a tough one though, it would've taken me a while to get it I think...
Fo sho.
(tapping my fingers here...)
Am I the only one that keeps checking in for new quotes?
It's okay, really, I know you have more things to do than worry about my need for this stuff... been reading the Host perhaps?
Hey, what does 'tapping fingers on a desk' remind anyone of?!
Yes you are teh only one checking for new quotes. Not until next week, sorry.
Are your fingers tapping "staccato style" on your desk?
Okay, I have a quote. I am re-reading the first chapter of Twilight every day, because I feel guilty starting to read before the 18th. But I was flipping through today and found a quote I love. But I dont' know how to create a post. Can I email it to TM, or should I just post it here?
Just put it here for now. I was going to find one just for Trisha anyway. Where is your Host? That is the only reason I can stand not reading Twilight yet. I have something else to read right now.
No, I'm tapping fingers like I'm being impatient or a bit frustrated. Say I'm waiting for my computer to boot up or something...
tapping your fingers...going to check your email perhaps?
pssst . . .RWV, you are tapping them "against the desk, staccato and anxious."
But if you are waiting for stunningly cold fingers to calm yours and marble lips to distract you, well you might be waiting a while. Unless you have a nice daydream.
Okay, here's the quote.
"I hate to burst your bubble, but you're really not as scary as you think you are. I don't find you scary at all, actually"
It might be easy for all of you, but I love this quote. And I am a little frustrated. But I can't share why yet, because it will give it away.
Hope this give you something to do RWV
I think I know where this is but I will let RWV play.
Does your frustration have anything to do with the movie? Ha ha. Join the club.
Well hmm, all I know is that it's in the beginning of Twilight, duh, that's why you posted it. But I'm really not sure at which point she says it. One of their many, sweet conversations. Go ahead and take a guess BFB or whoever, and I'll go from there. I've got to spend my free time reading my other book right now!
I'm guessing it's somewhere during the week before their date to the meadow?
No, but close. It is actually after the meadow. Any more guesses? This quote thing can be fun. Sorry it took so long to get back here, we were in Disneyland. Which reminds me, I would probably rather have been with the rest of you seeing Stephanie on Saturday than fighting the crowds at Disneyland. So please, I want to hear about it on another post. Any pictures would be nice as well.
Oh yes, this quote, being blatantly mis-represented in the movie, is one of a list of thousands of little disappointments. Good thing I have vowed to love it anyway.
So I know where it is. Poor RWV, we have got to get her back in those books.
And I am dying to start a post about Saturday. Why does life have to be so busy, why?
After the meadow, before the ball game, right?
I think we talked about this Saturday at lunch.
I'll send my pics to TM as soon as I have a second, but it might be tomorrow afternoon.
Yep, right before the baseball game. It is when Bella first goes to the Cullen's house and goes in Edwards room. And right after she says that, Edward pounces (there goes my heart just thinking about it) and tackles her on his couch!!! One of my favorite moments! You can just feel yourself wrapped in the iron cage that his arms are and yet still so soft and protected! BTW, the quote is found on the top of page 345 in Twilight. Has anyone started reading yet?
