Well everyone is VERY BUSY. So I am going to wait until I hear from a few of you before we start the official read-together. I am some how hesitant to start myself. I don't want such a good thing to be over to soon. But I want to take my time too. Or else read if ravenously and then go back and take my time.
Are you ready?

WHAT!!! I started reading on my way home from Disneyland and have been waiting anxiously for any posts on what everyone thinks as we re-read these gems. Please, someone else has to start so I can discuss chapter by chapter. While that will take up a lot of posts/comments, I am excited for that.
I'm ready. I plan to start reading today, at least the first chapter, depending on how my day goes.
Anyone ready to start with me? I'm actually really, really looking forward to it. It's time! August 2nd will be here before we know it!
Well I am ready too, but I would like to spend a little more time catching up on the blog. You gals can certainly overstep me but I am not going to post the first discussion for a day or two. I still want to respond to the Host discussion (again Becky why didn't you take the Host on your vacation?). And really the post after this one starts off the Twilight discussion. The "what was your initial reaction to Twilight" post.
But I may start reading today. Yeah. So I will at least put up a schedule, okay?
With all this rain and I can't attck my yard- Im in a much more twilighty mood. I think I am ready too.
Yes! I started reading Sunday night! I fell asleep (long story) but then read chapters 1 & 2 on Monday. Last night I read chapter 3, but this post makes me think that now I'm ahead. Maybe I won't keep reading a chapter a day so I can think deeply about each chapter as we post discussions.
Ruth, you and I can discuss. I am reading a chapter a day, even re-reading the chapter before I go to bed. I have so many thoughts, and now that I know the ending, there is so much foreshadowing in those first few chapters. So we can talk about what we read and how we think it pertains to the ending. And everyone else can catch up.
Great AWB! I agree, there is so much foreshadowing in the first few chapters. But I can't remember if I caught on to those hints the first time I read it. Did you?
Things I noticed:
**Bella not relating to people her own age or "people, period"
**"no one was going to bite me"
** and of course the descriptions of the Cullens during lunch that 1st day of school
So I wonder what else is a foreshadow that we don't realize yet since we don't have the 4th book.
Also, I noticed how quick Charlie was to call Renee after the accident in ch. 3. We know that Charlie was in contact with her at other times too. I think this fact could be used to argue that Charlie does not know about the vampires or werewolves because he definitely would have told Renee about that. And Renee would have made Charlie take Bella to Phoenix if they thought she was in any real danger.
Those are some of the things I noticed as well. And as I read, I had to chuckle to myself. I love that she says she doesn't seem to fit in anywhere, yet she feels the connection to Edward almost instantly. She tells him about her family situation, even when it seems she never really lets anyone in. They had just met.
I also love on pg.49 when she says life isn't fair and Edward agrees with her, dryly. I know it is in MS, but I have to think he is whole-heartedly agreeing with her, even if we didn't know yet. How unfair was life to him when he became a vampire without a choice. Kind of makes you sad.
As for Charlie, I am interested to see how his and Renee's relationship translates onscreen. It says Charlie has never gotten over Renee, but it will be fun to watch in real life.
I also love the way chapter 3 ends, it brings you into chapter 4 so well. And we can discuss the dream tomorrow after I read it again tonight. I love MaryAnn's (TM) take on the dream. I have to think that it is brought to fruition in BD. I am sure when SM wrote the book ,she wasn't sure it was going anywhere. She thought it was just for her, so maybe she didn't intend the dream to be anything but a dream showing Jacob coming into Bella's life. But since she did write more books, I am hoping there is significance to the dream so early in the series.
You guys!!! Could you two please start a post about the first chapter if you can't stand to wait. I don't want others to miss out on your comments. I don't think people will be looking on this post for chapter 1 or preface discussion.
Also the schedule will not be a chapter each day. It will be a weekly one since with all the chapters, epilogues, out-takes, etc. we have more to read than we have time for. And I am sure everyone will be a little hot and cold on the schedule anyway. It will be posted tonight. I don't think anyone can be more excited to read these again than me.
Oh - so excited... definitely time!!
Hi Ruth and AWB. So I started a post for you. Now that your done discussing it, but at least others will find your comments for sure now.
Could one of you start a new post for chapters 3 and 4? That would be great!
I feel like Laurent - "I cheated a little", well, alot! (My eyes are a deep red right now). I'm now actually towards the end of New Moon. I'll just have to follow along with the discussions now.
I forgot to list this!
Everyone try to stop after chapter one and read Midnight Sun chapter one. Read them side by side. IT is AWESOME! So add that to the assignment this week.
So fun!
Gee I wonder if BFB still remembers the title of those black books collecting dust on her shelves. Oh wait, she is spring cleaning. Maybe she will come across them again while dusting and have a flash back to happier times.
Cheated a little?! Did you start earlier, or could you just not put them down! That's ok, I understand, I hope you'll take part in the chapter discussions though! So will you be wearing contacts the next time we see you, I guess we'll know if your eyes are a strange shade of violet (like Heidi's).
