With only a week and a day left until the movie, can we stand the excitement? There are so many new interviews that I can't keep up anymore. Don't miss my new post about why.
Here is a gorgeous picture to get you through. Our next post will be the movie discussion!
See you at the movies.

Breaking Dawn teaser?

Hi there, my sister sent me an email with the supposed cover of Breaking Dawn (which we'll confirm on May 31st), and on the poster it has a brief conversation. I am not going to share the picture, per request from MA (does she have self control or what?), but I am going to share the lines that are printed on it. Make of it what you will, but it's already starting to drive me crazy, I can only imagine how I will feel after we get to read the first chapter of BD on Saturday! So here goes:

"Don't be afraid," I murmered.
"We belong together."
I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words.
This moment was so perfect, so right,
there was no way to doubt it.
His arms wrapped around me,
holding me against him....
It felt like every nerve ending in my body was a live wire.
"Forever," he agreed.
So, of course I know what I hope it might be referring to, but who knows! Love to hear what anyone else might think! Thanks for the heads up Cullenized!

Really?...I mean maybe not many have been on the blog today or something, but am I (and MA of course) the only ones intrigued by this little excerpt from BD? I would love to talk about it with someone!

Holy crud!!! So is that quote from the very beginning of the book? I would imagine they are eluding to Edward changing Bella, but that seems just too obvious. Maybe Bella has dragged Edward to a temple-prep class??? Just joking, but wouldn't that be so cool!!!

So no, I don't think it is from the beginning of the book. But we have no idea. We won't know until Saturday. But I am guessing first, that it's from the back cover or something. A teaser on the book cover or something.
And then, after a great deal of thought, (although I didn't think of the temple class) I can't imagine it relates to anything but the biggest, best moment of the book. But who knows. They could be tricking us. I don't know.

That's funny!! It would fit in that spot wouldn't it?
Anyway, we very well could be getting tricked, it seems too lucky to have that on the cover, something they know everyone wants so bad! (SIGH!)
I don't think it will be at the first of the book either, but we'll know soon enough!! :)
The other thought of what it could be talking about could be their wedding night (like you said MA), but that also seems like an odd thing to put on the cover considering what they would be talking about.

I agree we must be prepared for disappointment, but . . . I did some research. Each of the other 3 books have very revealing dialog on the covers.
Twilight reveals Edward is a vampire.
New Moon quotes Bella feeling whole again when she sees Edward.
Eclipse reveals Bella is in mortal danger again.
Even though none of the excerpts spell things out completely, they don't mislead really.

And I just can't imagine the publisher listing the pre-consumating their marraige converstaion, although that aspect does appeal to MANY. So that is how I reach my conclusion that is must be pre-bite.

Of course who is to say they won't be interrupted, but it doesn't feel that way does it? It sounds very initmate and very emotional, tense, beautiful, dangerous, haunting, just like we imagined it would.

What grade do I get for drawing so much out of a few sentences. Probably an F for being miserably off mark. I kind of do feel bad for Stephenie. Do you know how many people have HUGE, HUGE, expectations for this book. The next JK Rowling in that regard.

I know I kind of feel bad for her too. What pressure, really, I'm sure she's is bracing herself for the release of it.
I'll still give you an A, just for hoping and giving me hope.
I have thought that they might be interrupted as well, but I'm trying to keep the positive vibes going. Although realistic would be better. So, good job on the research, but I wonder.......

Pleas forgive. Did not check typo's.
It's better not to be to confidant really. But think about this. If that quote does not mean what we think it mean, then that is very, very, very, mean. And why would they be mean. They want people to buy the book. Lots of books. And share and read again and again. Part of JK Rowlings criticism was making the ending of Harry Potter to nice, to pleasing. HELLO! You can't go around devastating people in fiction. Why bother.
Did anyone ever see Million Dollar Baby. Great movie. Touching, and devastatingly depressing. I could only watch it once. Didn't make much money off of me, even though the story was so amazing.

I don't think SM's only motivation is making money but the publishers' certainly is. They wouldn't want to start a book burning or anything. So here's to hope. Our hearts are already out there. We can't possibly brace ourselves for the inevitable NOT happening. You know?

Yes, very true. I love a happy ending, as I've said many times. I was pleased with the ending of HP, and of course with the Host, which Stephenie herself made so happy. I haven't seen that movie, but I really hate sad ending stuff.
Truly, they (SM & publishers) have to know of the devastation right? I know, no matter how much we try to think it might not happen, it isn't going to lessen the devistation AT ALL. So we might as well keep on with it. Cross our fingers, wish on stars, pray, whatever...

Whoo hoo! Look who's here! (Although I haven't yet read all your nasty comments about me that you made in other posts. Once I read those I might not post anymore. How long do I have to wear plaid flannel if I stay?)

I love the quote. If it isn't real, it is a very good fake.
I put my vote for being pre-bite as well. Could be pre-wedding, except that then there would be other people around and Alice wouldn't allow them to see each other beforehand. So pre-bite is all that makes sense. As TM already mentioned, the publisher does have a (nasty, IMO) habit of revealing key elements of the plot on their cover quotes.

As far as us being depressed by an unhappy or unresolved ending, SM has said that she is all over happy endings too, so I have faith that she will not let us down.

In my mind, I see the wedding being interrupted,by Volturi or someone, and this is Bella's response. The more I think about it, I think that the Volturi come to get Bella because Edward has not changed her. And even though they have planned the wedding, they are coming after them. But Bella knows that they will be together, they have nothing to fear. And they are too perfect, so not matter what happens, I think that SM will not disappoint any of us. As you have all stated, she is all over happy endings, so Bella will be turned, they will be married, and everything will be okay. Maybe not perfect, but happy.

I don't doubt that the perfect wedding will get ruined somehow, since she keeps making references to a Mid Summer Nights Dream. But if the Volturi were there I would picture words with a little more tension and fear, like:
"We will be together somehow, no matter what happens."
I think the key words to this quote is how she says "the moment was so perfect, so right, there was no way to doubt". Even though her nerves are all reacting, I just can't picture her so serene. But it will sure be fun to find out.
