So this all stems from the quote of the week comments that I just went over. I mentioned in my last comment on that post that I thought I'd go re-read "Emmett and the Bear" in the outtakes from SM's website, so I did. And I LOVED it, even more this time around I think, and I'm not sure why. I am still smiling right now, and thinking about it. There are lots of fun things to read in it that I had forgotten. I initially read it months ago when I finished the 3 books and was thirsting (proper word eh?) for more. I couldn't get enough of anything Twilight, so perhaps I didn't appreciate it all back then. I love that SM had this as a part of her original Twilight. Interesting that it was suppose to be part of the original epiologue - which we all know what the wonderful epilogue turned out to be in Twilight (minus the extra "prom remix" of course, but that's an entire other post in itself). In this, I love that Edward is watching the food network, perhaps because I LOVE the food network, it's one of my favorite channels to watch as some of you may know. It makes me feel like I have a connection with him there :) Cute that he's frustrated that the chef if seasoning things by taste. I love that we know he is listening to everything Emmett is telling Bella but still intently watch the demonstration, because he reacts to what he feels necessary in non-verbal ways. Especially when he so quickly punches Emmett that Bella doesn't realize it until he is sprawled over the back of the couch. Can you imagine the rough housing those brothers do? And to end it perfectly, Esme scolding them from upstairs. So, I would encourage all of you to go to the link and re-read this great outtake, and see if you find something new or forgotten, or share what you enjoyed about it. I'm surprised at myself at how happy I am that I read it.

Well I guess that means I am forgiven for the tricky quote? First have to say that I think you are all the coolest group of women EVER! And I am not prejudice.
RWV summed up my thoughts EXACTLY, which happens freakishly too often. Reading it again I definitely had a deeper love and interest in this out-take. And this isn't just my 2nd time either.
I think I enjoyed it so much this time because I know everyone so much better now. I can just see it all happening, like Trish describes. Everything Edward is THE BEST! (love the TV watching, LOVE the rough-housing!)
I just adore Emmett's Angel and God descriptions.
But those first two lines, about being loved first, both Emmett and Bella, before they were changed, even though such a shorter time for Emmett. Well, it peirced my heart to think about Edwards love for Bella, and the inevitability that he will change her. Won't he? (last question rhetorical here.)
Ok I'm still a newbie, I couldnt find that story through that link; the Emmett and the Bear one? Where is it exactly?
Nvm Trish, I found it but my computer said it couldnt launch acrobat? I'll keep trying........
I hope you can find it Jenn, I can't believe you have never read it, what a treat you're in for! I wish I got to read it for the first time right now!
I love those first couple of lines as well. Very deep and sweet, and I love the connection that Emmett and Bella have in that. And I think that's it MA, that we know all the characters SO much better this time around so it's means something more. I can totally picture the entire scene while reading it.
We are all a very cool group of women!
I remembered this scene because I loved it so much when I read it. I totally feel for Edward when they tell him to season to taste - cooking is difficult for me, too!
But I have to say that I absolutely love Edward hitting Emmett & Esme scolding them. It is so real-life with just a little vampire twist.
These are the details that make these books stand out above others.
Very well said. Far above the rest!
I had only read this once - a long time ago too. I love it! I too loved the first lines...so Bella, don't you think? And it does mean so much more, because we know the characters so well - as we go along reading and re-reading. I think I'll read it again...
It is such a treat to forget some of these gems, isn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed it too Erin. I don't think we say enough how really truly great Bella is. I just love her and I am so glad she gets Edward and that he gets her. Yea fictional characters and your romance.
It really is. There are other outtakes and extras that I haven't read for months either, so that's something I'm going to do soon. I'll pace myself better than the first time around, and thoroughly enjoy them, perhaps I'll post again if I'm struck the same way with another...
Please do when you get a chance to enjoy them.
I think for February the TA meeting homework will be the prom remix. That should take some very careful study!
Oooh, good idea. I love to actually have a reason to read something in Twilight, like an assignment for instance. Definite careful study with that one, and a good month for that one. What's better than when they finally see each other all dressed up and both looking beautiful?
So,our next assignment is Prom, right? That will be a good one! I really liked reading this section.
Yes we have to read Prom before the next meeting. But no rush. Edward in a black tux. Beautiful. Can't wait.
What do you mean, the prom remix?
Is there something I'm not getting, or do you mean the epilogue of book 1?
There might be something you are not getting, which would really surprise me since you are very Twilight savy, but I don't want to clarify for a week or two. I promise I will get everyone some new posts to keep them company, tonight okay?
Esmessence you still need to do an end of New Moon post. Can you read that and not gush? And did you take my advice and stay away from the epilogue until you start Eclipse? I can't remember if you have already started Eclipse?
Think I figured it out. I can't ever remember the titles of things - not even the important chapter titles like "Compromise" - I had to look that up to see what you guys were talking about in the other posts.
Don't worry about it. Remember mental exercise is a benefit of Twilight!
Yes, at least one part of me is getting some exercise...
Jenn you're funny.
I don't remember all the chapter names, but I do think it's something I want to start doing. I only remember certain ones, especially my favorite ones or any that strike me more strongly the others. Didn't you say one time that you were trying to memorize all the chapters Erin? If so, did you do it?
Well, I hope for your sake that you haven't read the prom remix betchafeelbetter, what a treat for you, possibly one of the best of all!!!
Jenn you are very, very funny!
Oooh memorizing chapter names. Awesome. We could have a contest some time for who can name the most chapter names. I won't win that one. It is a new area for me. I only have 3 or 4 memorized right not.
Don't read the prom remix yet. C'mon everyone, we have to space out the delight. Not until the end of January first of February so that we can all read it together. Deal?
I know, I know...I keep wanted to wait for a long period of time when I can post about NM ending. But then, I end up reading or commenting on other things. I actually didn't get a chance to stay away from the NM epilogue, because I just went right into Eclipse. Which reminds me of another post I want to do. Maybe I should just slow down - I loved what you said MA...mental exercise is definately one of the best benefits!!
Deal, sounds good to me to wait to read the remix. I think it would be really fun to all read it together within a day or two of each other. You give us a post MA when the time is right, it'll be fun to discuss it all fresh. I'll look forward to doing this in the next couple of weeks...aah Edward in a black tux.
I have read it, but it was within the week that I read the books and all the other stuff I could find on SM's website. I think a lot of stuff is kind of mushed together in my head.
So, I will wait to re-read it.
And, hey, our fingers also get lots of exercise when we visit the blog!
Yes,I think that will be really good for us all to read it together, so its all fresh on all our minds at the same time! Btw, RWV, I know you're here;just wondering hows my brother from another mother doing?
Thanks for asking, he's not so good today, we'll hope for a better day tomorrow.
Also, that's right, our fingers do get lots of exercise! We should all have nice, firm, thin fingers right?
Nice Jenn, brother from another mother, haven't heard that one before, except maybe in the hood. :)
Right-on sista!
and I'm sorry to hear he's had a bad day, hopefully tomorrow wont be quite so bad. Maybe you could read a few chapters of your choice to soothe him? just kidding
That is VERY funny to picture, me sitting next to him while he is lying on the couch or bed, and flipping open to a favorite chapter to read aloud to him. I'm sure he'd really appreciate that...not (wow can you tell I grew up in the 80's/early 90's)
LOL-yes I can see him shaking his head and saying "who are you?" at least it might divert his focus away from his hand to how annoyed he would be.......
I love the blog side of you two sisters. Really Jenn you are going to have to have a vampirey name to match your sista. You two are always ENTERTAINING!
Finger Excercise! That is Fabulous!
