Okay, I love reading all the husband moments, so I'm giving them their own home. (Guys need one too, right?) These are the fun things, like TM/MA's Volvo experience, and Ruth's Jacob hat.
I'll start another post for husband questions, insights, and reactions to the books.
Here are the few I have found.
From Ruth:
my husband was playing with my new hat (lined with fake fur), turned it inside out, put it on his head so that it covered his eyes and said, "do I look like Jacob?" Hah!
From Twilightmom:
Sunday afternoon. We are driving, on the freeway, and he abruptly calls out "there's a Volvo." And yes he knows exactly what he is doing. He knows who drives a Volvo.
Well that certainly gets my attention. But the volvo was some dumb big piece of machinery being used for road construction. I rolled my eyes and mentioned how a yellow/orange volvo doesn't have much appeal for me, but how proud I was of him for noticing and pointing it out. I'm sure if the Cullen boys spent a few years in construction as a diversion, they would use Volvo brand machines.
And my own:
He was reading to our daughter, something like this:"Sally, Suzie and Isabella, Hey! Bella! were three princesses..." He said this all without a pause, except that they "Hey! Bella! was directed at me while the rest was part of the book.
I just grinned at him (a big wide Jacob grin)and said, "You just had your first Twilight moment!" He shook his head.
So please add your own husband-moments to this post. It will be a good spot to come when we need to smile.

These really are all fun to read. I'll have to post more as my husband continues on and then finishes the book...so check back later for more from me :)
Dinner was late last night, so my husband was helping me get it ready. He was kind-of quiet, so I asked, "Are you okay? Or just hungry?"
He replied, "I'm starving. Are my eyes turning black yet?"
That is funny! Yay for husband moments! Thanks for sharing..
Well, having my husband know what I am talking about, is kind-of fun.
He was driving along today and let out this big sigh and then started chuckling. I looked at him and he said, "I was just wishing that all of these cars would get out of my way so that I could go faster, and it made me think of..." he let me finish saying, "Edward."
He liked how Edward described speed as an "indulgence;" my husband likes to go fast, but doesn't because he also wants to be safe. Funny, how all the moms think it would be nice to be a vampire because of the ability to go without sleep, whereas my husband connects with the vampire ability to drive fast and still be safe.
Those are fun. It's true that we all wish we could have vampire hours, oh the things we could get done! The interesting thing is (and I think Dave pointed this out right MA?) is how safe of a car a Volvo is, and Edward hardly needs to be driving one of the safest cars out there. He could survive jumping out of a plane for crying out loud!
I think I read that Volvo is very cutting edge when it comes to fuel efficiency. That would be very Edward-y. And Edward's is still fast. So its the best of both worlds. And very un-ostentacious.
My husband hasn't read any of the books yet, so he doesn't know too much about the story line or details yet. But on Saturday morning I got talking with him about the books and asked him if he would like a quick synopsis about what the books are about. He was pretty intrigued and even asked "What do they eat if they don't feed on humans?" and "Is Bella a vampire yet?" Then later that night, he was looking at our calendar we have in the kitchen and noticed that I had written TA meeting on Feb 7th. He asked "What is a TA meeting"? I told him it's for the Twilight books. His response was "Do you have any idea what T & A stands for?" I quickly smacked him in the arm for the comment, then decided that I will have to write it differently next time. MEN!!!!
It would take a man to think of that!
I hope I didn't just make my husband out to be some kind of one-track minded chauvanist - really, he is the most polite and respectful guy I have ever met (he doesn't ever even swear) But..... he does like to tease!
I didn't take your comment in a bad way (or think of your husband in a bad way) at all - I was just meaning more that a woman would NOT think of that.
I tend to think nicely of everything, and I am always surprised when my very reserved husband has to point out the (sometimes very obvious) things that I have overlooked.
So I have a teeny Twilight Moment from my husband. But the first one for him, none the less. So last night in bed I was cold (imagine that...seriously I'm ALWAYS cold, especially my feet and hands) and my hands were especially cold so I rolled over and put them up under his shirt on his warm back. Of course he jumped, and the first thing he said was, "Geez! You're like a vampire!"
Isn't that great! I was so happy, I told him I was going to have to add that to the appropriate post on the blog today, which he just smiled and shook his head at. He said it once more today when I was changing my 1 1/2 year old's diaper, and my little boy kept saying "cold, cold" when I would touch his bare skin while I was changing him (sad & cute, huh). So Justin, piped in and said, "I know Luke, Mom's as cold as a vampire!"
Anyway, thought I'd share! Nothing big, but still fun.
By the way, what a nice compliment huh? I'll take it!
Ha ha ha! I love it.
You know, they wonder why we get excited that they are reading things - it is FUN when we can share something we like with them, and joke about it in our daily lives.
Oh RWV, yes, a wonderful compliment. I don't think I could come up with a better one. Brilliant! It is so fun when it is natural for even husbands to include Twilight. I am so proud of Justin and happy for you. Cold as a vampire. Trisha Cullen McCoy! Cute!
My husband and I were at a church dance tonight and out of the blue, he tells me that he will read "that Twilight book of yours". I was so surprised and caught off guard, I didn't know what to say, but very excited about it. Then 5 minutes later, I run into TM/MA and her DH. I proceed to tell then what my husband just said and how surprised I was. Then I come to find out later that MA's DH had asked my DH if he had read Twilight yet, just moments before. So..... now I know why he is suddenly so willing to read it. Oh well, whatever it takes!
So my DH asked me if Marti and I were talking about TW? And you know, when we first saw each other we weren't. Not one word. Which looking back I think we should be ashamed of ourselves Marti.
Anyway I immediately told him I would take care of that, and rushed back for a few nice TW comments during a nice evening. Thanks Dazz.
p.s. We keep meaning to start a weekly "Twilight Moments" post but for now I will put my other moments on Erins's Twilight for Valentines post. Go read them Dazzled. They were about the dance tonight.
Sorry I missed you at the dance Dazzled. We must have been shakin' it on different sides of the dance floor (yeah right). Anyway, I'm happy for you that your husband said he'd read it. One funny thing is that Dave asked my husband earlier while we were eating if he had read TW yet. Must have been on his mind that night.
RWV - sorry I missed you at the dance too! Was anyone else there from TA besides MaryAnn? My husband is reading TW at the speed of a snail, very frustrating for me, but I'm going to try to not rush or harass him.
I think that was it right MA? Just the 3 of us.
It seems to be the norm for husbands to go slow at first. That first half of TW where their relationship is building and stuff, we all completely love it of course, I just think most of the guys aren't as intrigued by that stuff, so don't feel too bad. I'm excited for you that he started though!
